If the answer is yes, can they kindly remove the blot on the landscape on the left as you approach the Main gates, namely their cement works and container's and various assorted shacks, before someone has any bright ideas on how they can be used for other purposes

Would ML know about that land and the equipment etc?

I think all that land now belongs to the Banks or IRM- but, could be wrong and its parcels of land either side of la Isla that belong to the  consortium and I wouldn't be surprised if PW still own some bits and pieces. They held on a long time probably hoping to keep as much of CdA as possible with the poitential of Paramount Park on the horizon.

However if they bid to build any part of Paramount Park then they have a ready made concrete factory only 5km from the project. Likewise if they plan any development or bid to build anything in the near vicinity they have everything already in place.

I think in February the proposed purchasers have to come up with the 15 mill or so for the Paramount land and that has made me wonder if we'll see any other projects start up here and there if that purchase goes ahead. Those parcels of land can be sold on now so who knows what could be developed there and PW have the resources right on hand to make a bid to build for other developers. Although I dont see any building on a big scale as there 's so much unsold property in the region and the Govt want the glut reduced not increased.

Meanwhile it'd be nice to know who owns what across CdA.

Seems a nice prospect, a fully operating concrete batching plant on your door step.  One of the reasons I purchased at CDA.  Every resort should have one.

To be fair that concrete works was going to remain there for many years as PW were planning on building over 15,000 properties originally and thats before the various shopping parades with bars and restaurants, plus hotels that would have added facilities to the resort. Then there was to be the Oassis shopping mall and a walk in medical centre and a firestation on the outer ring road plus sports facilities and the two other golf courses would have needed some buildings/club room.  Had the financial markets not gone pear shaped CdA would have expanded even further than that- so I'm thinking that plot would have remained as an eyesore for the foreseeable future. It was always a 10 + year plan for CdA. We bought on Jardines and planned to buy on Golf Suites and Mirador  so that we weren't over looking that area because the building work was expected to go on for so long.

I suppose that the best we can now hope for is that they do bring it back in action  so it doesnt all become a derlict eyesore or move most of it when they can move forward on some building elsewhere thats too far to transport concrete on a daily basis.

All this supposes they haven't forgotten about it- but I doubt PW forget anything thats theirs.

The acceptance of the batching plant would be made easier if it was there to improve our immediate resort.  Having said that I suppose that any works that may be carried out at Paramount (if atoll) will be beneficial to our community.  I must add that these plants are designed to be mobile and would most likely be placed on site.

Yes,  I agree that they most likely would be moved or possibly they'd just supplement other plants.

It would be good to know if there are any plans to clear the area because I also agree they remain an eyesore on that back stretch.

The problem is the longer that area remains stagnant, the more it becomes part of the furniture

I must admit, after numerous visits over the last 3 years, I rarely notice the 'building site' on the drive in. It is not until we bring a first time visitor with us and they ask what the area is for that we realise nothing has progressed

I welcome the day we have unspoilt views from our roof terrace but would rather see building work re commence on either developing the resort or at least landscaping some of the derelict land.  Unfortunately the 10 year plan is looking more and more realistic

 agree

more attention to the waste areas in the resort would be great i live at the bottom of naranhos 8 and the wasteland at the back is an eyesore. generaly used for dog walking. why can they not landscape the areas adjacent to properties. on the old maps it was shown as pods first then green area with trees.

who can we lobby to get these areas done surely it is just a bit of turf and a couple of trees.

they put enough outside the resort!!!!!

frustrates me

Nick

ML maybe could be lobbied- but it depends on who owns the parcels of land.  IRM seem to own much of the resort now but I'm not sure if PW still have little pockets. Maybe a President could respond to that

Its never as cheap as we'd like to do any sorting out/landscaping as I suppose our gardening company would have to do it , get in the grass, remove rubbish etc. then maintain it which might increase their charges if different bits of the resort got tidied on top of the present contract.

I know ML have been able to get permission for us to maintain the football pitches so it seems its possible to get something the community doesnt own under our maintenance control. But, I imagine there's a number of little bits of over grown land that need attention so it could be costly.

Hi

I don't think you would need grass, don't forget it would probably cost a lot to keep it watered and looked after. It would be better to plant some plants and trees that are local to the area that don't need that much caring and would blend in better with the surrounding area. Some trees could be added and it would look really good and not much to do and keep looking nice.
