Public Services on SG

Last year as you will probley know we at SG asked solitors to find out  why the council would not be willing to take over our site now Masa has left us  . We asked before they started to come up with a costing so we would deside if this was affordable . In the end after months of trying to contact them without any forthcoming answers they wanted a upfront fee of 5000 euros . They were told we would not pay this and they were dismissed so no cost involved  . Since then a court case has come to light where as a resort " Los Angeles de San Rafael Resort " near Madrid as taken the Town Hall to court to provide public services and maintainance . The outcome was a  court ruling saying services and facilities must be met by the Town Hall . Ongoing from this another complex at Marina Alta which is in a similer prosistion as us as been promised public funds to complete thr developments infrastructure . It is estimated 300 of the 700 homes stand empty , blinds drawn . Work never started building on certain plots .The  Town Hall has pledged to a rescue package because of the " serious deficiencies " in the infrastructure and offering to do the work . It is expected to reach between 5 & 7 million euros and will be completed during 2012 .The Mayor Ann Maria Soler accepted there was a huge tast facing the town hall but it is the council's responsibility to carry out the work . " Residents must live in the best possible conditions " , to quote her . Because of these findings a lady from our site is willing to meet with the mayor to discuss our problems with the hope of the council taking responcabilty for SG . Cleaning , lights , rubbish removed , gardening to the entrance and roudabouts on the approach into SG , drains etc . Once contact has been made a few of the residents and holiday home owners hopefully to discuss our problems with the council  . She is NOT charging us for her time and help  This is a good oppertunity to get the site running instead of falling into disrepair . She does need however your name , both if joint . your SG address , not the address Masa has put up , but the address the council has given . ie  . Calle Diez +number . and also a NIE or passport number , together with your signture . Urgency is required so things can get started .

Thank you to the SG home owners who sent in their details for our campaign to try and and get the council will take us over . We still need alot more or the council will not entertain us . The residents have all signed so it's up to the holiday home owners to make up the numbers . We need them soon for the lady on our site invite the mayor so we can show what we need doing . Without their help the site is falling into disrepair . The entrance to SG is a disgrace , it's stopping newcomers from buying . Masa have gone . It's up to us to try to inprove our site where we all have invested so much . Frankie2

Hi to all SG owners . The good news is our tally of names and details has gone over 150 . Thank you to you all . The next thing is to make arrangements to meet with the local mayor of which Jeanette is in charge of this . I will keep you informed but it might take a week or two .

Hi Jason , I understand there is a meeting with the mayor next week , so at the moment there is nothing elaborate on , also we never received your details to add to our collection , but better late than never if you pass them on . The total has reached over 160 .
