Airport, Golf Course, Trains, Paramount & Storage

Hi All, rather than start a discussion on just one subject i thought i would cover several at once ! If the Airport at San Javier is going to close as soon as the new Murcia International Airport opens at Covera have we actually gained anything ? Yes the airport is nearer, but will there be more incoming flights ? I seem to remember all the talk of longer runways being able to handle flights from outside Europe, etc, but unless Paramount goes ahead is there any prospect of people from the Middle East, North America, Asia, etc coming to Murcia ? Surely that would need the region of Murcia to be marketed agressively in those markets with tv ads, representative tour operators, etc and i just have not seen any sign of that, so my question on the airports is has it just got nearer as far as Corvera Golf & Country Club is concerned ? Second; the Golf Course, does anyone have any news about when the golf course, driving range and golf pro shop will open to the general public ? I know at the moment as owners we get free golf, but frankly i'm getting a little bored with that, i would rather pay a reasonable green free and buggy hire fee and see the course being maintained properly. Any news on this front would be welcome. Thirdly; Trains, i seem to remember reading about a high speed train link from Madrid to Murcia ? But will that extend beyond Murcia to say Cartagena ? If so is there any prospect at all that there would be a station near to Corvera Golf ? I did look into the cost of taking the train from London to Murcia on existing lines once and it worked out about 400 pounds return per person where as the Ryanair flight were about 100 pounds return per person, so not very competitive at all, does anyone know of a cheaper option ? Fourthly; Paramount, it does strike me as funny how the Spanish can have endless meetings and whirl away politically like a whirling dervish about a project that as far as i'm aware does not have any finance ! In the UK we would of course do things the other way round, first we would secure the funding for such a project and then we would see the project stall for years in our useless planning system while all the nimby's would complain about the proposed location. Is there any prospect of someone putting their hand in their pocket anytime soon ?  Fifthly; Storage, if you have a tilo apartment like me that's not on the ground floor then your apartment like mine has the storage capacity of a matchbox ! Is there any prospect of there ever being any garages or storage lockers being built at Corvera Golf, i for one would happily buy or rent a garage on site, i did see on one golf community in Andalucia last year a group of lorry / sea containers that had been converted into residents lockers, each cupboard was not that big but it would easily take a few sets of golf clubs or a couple of bicycles, is there any prospect of residents like me ever getting any storage capacity ? There you go five comments and questions for you all, RSVP !

Saw this the other day and hope it responds to one of your questions! As far as the course is concerned, they are cutting turfs from the far end of the driving range, so that tends to indicate some movement! The clubhouse is progressing well, even the kitchen/bar equipment is going in now. Completion date is still 31st of March (we are told!).

 Ana Pastor, the Minister of Development announced yesterday that Corvera International airport has been included in the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN), which the Government of Spain will present to the EU in Brussels.

The Modifications to the TEN will demonstrate improvements made with proposed and existing regional infrastructure communications, specifically the AVE and conventional railway neworks, and how they integrate with the new airport.

In October of 2011 the European Commission accepted the proposal of the PSOE's then Minister for Development, José Blanco, in connecting Algeciras in Cadiz, Southern Spain, to Scandinavia via the Mediterranean coast.

Aside from modifying the TEN proposal to include Corvera airport, the Minister spoke of the port of Cartagena being added as a significant infrastructure project.

Re storage, a property in a block behind us has had storage built at the top end of their parking space - not sure on the details, but I understand that the build was acceptable under the Corvera building regulations, although I'm sure that there will be restrictions relating to dimensions.
