Is it true that the painting of the outside of the buildings on Condado are now the owners responsibilty?

John.

Check your community statutes, the answer will be in there stating who is responsible. On Mar Menor Golf Resort we have been paying into a fund through our community fees to have our villas painted. As all the Polaris World resorts have used the same standard statutes yours may very well be the same as ours on the painting situation. This statute can only be changed at an AGM. Have you recently had an AGM?

The outside painting of the appartments etc is not the responsibility of the owners , there has been a painting committee formed within our presidents and we have been looking into all aspects of painting required on our resort , the first thing that is to be painted is the perimeter fence , this is starting to rust and needs urgent attention , we are also looking at painting all the flaking areas that are making our resort look untidy , this work will be started very soon , once these are finished we will then be looking at starting to paint the full resort , as you can appreciate this will be a mammoth task and must be budgeted for , rest asure your presidents are on the case

Painting the outside should be done as Dave says by the community but the woodwork has to be done by the owners.

We first looked at making a purchase in very early 2007 but my ex father inlaw had settled on a property well before that. Either way we both believe the properties would be painted 3 years after completion- I later read it would after five years. I'd argue that's not what I signed up for; but if the CC has to pay for it then so be it. When it's done I hope due deference is given to chairs and a tables set out on terraces so paint isn't scattered onto them and also the tiles.

Can anything be done for those people (including us) who are seeing flaking of terrace tiles? Its clear a cheap or damaged product was used. I remember a post last year suggested that PW just said it was bad care management by owners but I'd suggest the tiles are poor quality- we have used the protection product for tiles each year..

In jardin 5 some of our apartment pergolas have never been painted. When we complained at completion we we told that the timbers came already stained and ours weren't as dark as some of the other jardins.

2 years on we look around and have a variety of colours of which some have never been painted at all.

Wouldn't it be better to treat them all together and charge it on the community fees?

i couldn't wait any longer

we were over in February this year and got the rollers out inside and out

took me 1 day per apartment and it came up a treat

all thos little scuff marks gone on the inside looked brand new.

cost me about 80 euros for the paint and a few euros for the roller and tray

and got a lost of satisfaction when done.

i am set up now and will do them every year
