Last year we used Paul Williams from Villa Cashback, www.polarisworld.info.
He was great and sent us a number of site plans with bank repossession apartments available before we decided to fly out.
Yes there are some horror stories out there. There is an apartment in Jardin 5 that got flooded when the water supply was connected. Our apartment was very dusty and needed a really good clean and the electrical supply took 2-3 weeks to be properly connected, never got to the bottom of why it took so long! Worried about flooding, when we initially viewed the apartment that we decided 'that was the one' I went round and switched off all taps and stop taps. I also checked for dampness, external water penetration, excessive cracking etc...
With a bank repossession you just need to be aware that it is bought as seen, but this is reflected into the price and any problems you will need to sort yourself if it is not covered by the builders warranty. You can pay substantially more for an apartment thats been lived in and still have a problem with plumbing, meters wired up with the neighbours, cooker or hot water cylinder not working etc... I've heard trying to get Polaris World to sort them is very hard work.
Good luck.
