Omg!!! Went for what we thought would be a lovely meal in la cata. Big mistake!!! Each to their own and all that, and this is just our opinion and experience tonight. But we went there tonight. 10 of us, 3 ordered starters 5 children ordered meals and we asked for kids meals to come with starters. Anyway, waiter one hour 45 minutes and asked where our food was, was told one moment. 2 hours later our starters and mains were served all at once apart from my 11 year olds carbonara which was served cold about 5 minutes later. I complained as the Paella was cold and and said we'd pay for the all the food apart from the cold paella even though we waited near on 2 hours for our food!!! They complained and called security but eventually agreed the 112 euro bill less 17 euro for the paella and we paid 95 euro, we went for a drink in clover and police came asking for our passport numbers!! We asked la cata for a complaint form which they refused to give. Therefore the moral is be wary, very wary if you decide to go there!!! Rant over :-)

I hope they improve and guess they have little choice with the options on offer. We too had experience of slow service, incorrect meals, starters delivered after main courses, main courses delivered over 10 minutes apart - there were only 3 of us!! Totally opposite to the Bulgarian, excellent food and customer service. Let's hope they improve, we do to want to see new ventures going to the wall and they will if they do not ease the customer! We too went last night and had a bad experience. We waited an hour and a half for food. Main meals came out at different times- so far apart that some had finished theirs by the time it arrived. One dish was stone cold. The salad arrived once we had finished. We told them to cancel 2 meals as we had waited so long and the kids were exhausted and fed up of sitting waiting. The place was in chaos, no organisation. Going out for a meal is supposed to be a nice experience & this was far from it. The food we cancelled appeared about 30 mins after everything else and was then included on bill, they did remove these dishes begrudgingly. In my opinion for the appalling service we shouldn't have paid for anything. If they are serious about staying in business then they need to get there act together.

We too went to La Cata and recieved poor service, the food was good but the organisation was terrible and the one waitress was quite rude, hope things improve because its good to have options and i wouldnt like to see any business closing down. The Condado , The Clover and The Bulgarian all seem to be running very well with decent welcoming service even at the busiest of times.Does anyone know if these private enterprises pay towards the services of the resorts private security ? While we've been lead to believe on a previous post they have no jurisdiction on the golf course it appears La Cata have used the resort security as their own. As i see it the security are here for the security and safety of all on Condado and whether La Cata contribute or not a reasonable discrepency over a bill is a private matter between business and customer.

Oh no!
I'm really disappointed this restaurant doesn't seem to be settling in well.
Is there anyone on this forum that know the owners and could have a serious word with them?
With publicity like this thread on here, they ain't gonna last very long.
People vote with their feet and it would be horrendous for a new venture to collapse due to poor service.

I have to say that we went with our kids and found it fine, and we went after talking to others who had good nights there.
We found the service friendly and helpful, although as it got busier I could see how it might get chaotic.
I have noticed how much busier CdA has got in the past week or so...maybe its just a matter of them not being prepared for the increase in numbers.

I believe the owners live on Condado. We popped in a few days ago just for a late night drink and they seemed quite pleasant , For us the main problem is the one waitress who seems to throw things at your table rather than place them and is abrupt and rude, she used to work at the clover a while back and was the same there. I genuinely believe she has a dislike for the English. Fingers crossed she wont last long

Hi Folks,
Sorry to hear of your bad experiences but we must have been the lucky ones. 7 of us went to La Cata 3 kids 4 adults everything came on time within 15 to 20 minutes perfect and we were all having different food, starters & main courses. If the service is bad people will protest with their feet and the place will close, only time will tell

My wife and I went last night and had the best meal we've ever had at Al Kazar.
Service was pleasant and punctual, the food was hot and cooked perfectly and in their Cava Sangria I've now found a new best refreshing drink whilst here.
Big pats on the back all round for the staff who were on last night as it was superb, thank you. This message was last edited by dwinder72 on 19/09/2012.

Glad you had a good meal and La Cata has improved since my last visit as I had a horrible time but now its quieter they may have got it better.
I dont like posting about the businesses on here as they all strive to make a living and publicity can effect them all good and bad.
Have eaten in all and found that some were better than others and I urge all to do the same including the sports club down the road.
Am little worried we are getting more and no shops I would hate our resort to be resuarants only and in the winters all closed look at the port
Peter.

We had a meal there whilst we were out last week. The meal was lovely; unfortunately the service was rather slow, to the point where the bottle of wine we had ordered was finished by the time we got our starters! Of course we then had to have another one! The service was excellent though, and the waitress did apologise for the wait. Both our starters and meals were lovely. I do think however, that during busy times they might struggle with the service unless they bring in more staff. We also tried the tapas bar, but it put us off that hardly anyone was there, although the cocktails were lovely and the service was really good. I understand that one of the staff there is offering spanish lessons there so hopefully that'll get it being more used. The Clover as usual was great, as was both the Condado Club and Bulgarian Restaurant. Unfortunately that's it for another year; can't wait to come back!

Hi Peter,
I have been informed that IRM will not allow any more restaurant/cafe/bars on Al kasar as they feel there are enough now.
Hopefully that means some shops of some description.

funny that, we where told when over that there is the possibility of a Italian and Indian opening.. if i want a shop i'll go to murcia. restaurants and bars is whats needed. We need a wider choice of food
Personally we didnt like la Cata, burgers where naff and the lag was salty and tasted like it was a mico meal. We are not normally ones for eating food we can eat at home when in spain, but needs must at times so the sooner the American diner opens the better.
The Bulgarian takes some beating, its by far the busiest restaurant of a evening and still the nicest in Al Kazar for food and service.

Lynn,
Oh what a shame that you thought the Bokao (the Spanish tapas bar) was great but you did not go back cos it was too quiet! In my experience, the more people you see in a bar, the more people are likely to go there. All our bars need support and some more than others it would seem. (I loved Bokao)!
Saying that, I did not have good service at La Cata but the food was good and I would definitely try them again as I believe in 2nd chances with new businesses!
Looking forward to a few shops/other retail places opening.

Agree completely , about giving new businesses a chance we read some negative comments about some places and tried them anyway. La cata - we had a breakfast and a dinner, both good. Bokao - had breakfast , beer with tapas, and a burger (not all together) was really good , great music. Bulgarian - evening meal , good but a bit pricier. We also had breakfast and snacks at condado club which were good. Also several ice creams and creamy coffees which went down a treat. Not forgetting football and entertainment at the clover with drinks.
All in all a great time and loved having all the new places to go to , good luck to all the new businesses. Big difference to when we only had the supermarket, and clover run by polaris who opened and closed when they felt like it......
Very happy

La cata good! Good food and service, they now on track. Spanish tapas bar maybe not! Went in yesterday lunch with nowt on display as far as tapas concerned so walked out! Bulgaria place was again top drawer! Good food and service reasonably priced! Clover and condado bar always spot on with food and service!

La Cata is now the busiest restaurant in Al Kasar...the ex Clover waitress does not appear to be there any more. The Bulgarian appears to be struggling. The Clover is the heart of Al Kasar and continues to thrive....Bokao is quiet but they try very hard..I think their location is against them.....the ice cream parlour is quieter but busy with locals for coffees......we want to see them all thrive but it is so quiet at the moment!!! Breakfast, lunch or dinner at the Condado club is better than ever....it's nice to support them all!!!!
