Wouldn't say the comments are that harsh. The club house is the only tattoo free zone of the three currently open, and even there the food is no better than average. The resort needs decent facilities, not two bars that are seemingly competing with each other. People will spen money if the environment is right.
The night we went to 'kin ellies, tables had not been cleared, a duo murdered a few hits from the seventies, and I think there may have been a "vest wearing" competition going on, although I hadn't noticed one being advertised.
We have a great resort, with fantastic facilities. Good food and drink is what is missing, and until this is put right it will remain a ghost town. (and I love the resort, so god knows what the detractors say!)

we read this last week,he obviously had a problem with the resort and us we dont recall him,but at the end of the day we all know this is the best resort in the area even though its not as populated as others,if 90% of the people are happy then we are all doing a good job,you cannot please everyone all of the time, and i wouldnt worry about harming the resort i dont think people would change their plans because of 1 persons comments, there are other people who have loved the resort and will be coming back.

Our friends came back from the Resort yesterday and said what a great time they had.
They loved Kennerlys and said what an asset it was and how lots of the villlas were being sold and the gardens being done.
Our friend does not have tattoos and owns a millon pound plus fine dining restarant and his chef worked under Gorden Ramsey and won Masterchef.. So he is not a moron.

My opinion on the matter is this,
Some of us after many many years of nothing to do or anywhere to go on here are trying to do something about it. I personally after owning a property on here for 5 years now have decided to try and give the resort a kick start along with others like Shaun & Nicole from Kennelly's. My supermarket might not have the vast amount of different brands of the same products like your mercodona's but i try and have most of the everyday essentials so not to have to leave the resort for the slightest thing you need. Most people understand this and that people like us are not here for the quick buck but here for the long term and to make Hacienda a better place for both tourists and residents.
I have heard a few negative comments about my shop and other businesses on here and some from people who come here year after year twisting about "there's nothing to do" but still come back and when there is more here they just try and rip shreds off it.
I would be happy face to face hear about any comments about my shop as sometimes i can overlook things that might be obvious but i have no time for slanderous comments from people hiding behind a "user name" on places like this.
Just for the record 2 weeks ago when it hit 43oC i found myself in a vest top and not a shirt and tie.......funny that..... maybe i should have wore a shirt and tie and stank like a sweaty tramp with sweat marks everywhere next to someone eating. As for the clubhouse...i have tattoo's on my legs and was in there with shorts....nothing said so its not a tattoo free zone either. Money can buy you a nice tattoo but no amount of money can buy good dress sense and manners!

Comparing Gordon Ramsay to a bar on Hacienda does just weaken your point just a little. By the way, his empire almost went bust last year.
My point is that it doesn't matter how hard people work, there is only so much trade on the resort given how populated it is. It may well be possible to encourage punters to come from elsewhere, but this is not going to happen where the only facilities are in direct competition with each other.
In the current climate it is much more likely that an enterprise will be successful where it is attracting people who can spend a decent amount of money per visit. Not Gordon Ramsay, but where the profit margin is sufficient to cover staff costs, rent etc. and to attract a sustainable ongoing trade. I hope all the businesses succeed, but in the current business environment, everyone needs to have a focused, service led, well researched and efficiently run business to stand any chance of success.
London is seen as one of the strongest finacial centres, where property prices are still increasing (rememebr that??) and where the economy is still resonably strong, and yet every street has For Sale/To Let signs up where besinesses have failed.
I think the resort has to put significantly more effort into the commercial part of the resort, and look upon it in the same way as the golf course-if you stop watering it it will die

Hi
I think you missed the point. I said that my friend had a resturant and employed a chef who worked with Gordon Ramsey and he still enjoyed Kennell'y because he was pleased that there was somewhere new on Resort.
It has been proved that fine dining does not work on Resort at the moment.
Do you remember La Hacienda 5 forks where the Spaniard Inn is now.It was a beautiful place but soon closed down because it was too expensive.
Most golfers and holiday makers do not want to pay for fine dining they just want good food at good prices, which is being supplied by the three resturants on resort.

Ricky, I hope you're right. It will be interesting to see what businesses are still going this time next year.
I'm glad that you think that good food is so readily available, I must be missing something. I do eat out 3-5 times a week in the UK and have also been on masterchef, and know that none of the current facilities would survive with decent competition.

Hi ,
We also eat out a lot and living in London have the choice of the West End but it was not so long ago all we had near to HDA was Stallones and nothing at all on resort even the clubhouse closed very early..
We are thankful that we now have somewhere to go on resort without driving a long distance.
We are coming over in September and are looking foreward to it .

Jesus crist....I'm sick of hearing about feckin master chef. The bars in question charge less than €10 for most of their meals and lets be honest thats a good deal at an affordable cost if like me you just want to pop out for a few hours. As you say times are hard so who wants a €50 or €100 meal cooked by someone who knows someone who once walked their dog with gordon ramseys dog....Not me and most people who live here either so to me that would fail straight away like the La Hacienda that was here already did.
As for ranmore's comments pm'd to me about "rough clientel" in Kennelly's........We open the businesses but its the people who live here and visit here who are the clientel including you.....so basically you are calling everyone who lives here as rough.....Cheers....it must be nice being perfect.
I suggest next time that maybe you fly your own feckin chef over with you....sit in ye own feckin garden....bitch on to ye own feckin family OR go else where like maybe La Manga Club because for someone with as much to complain about i cannot imagine why you would come back
