Depends on your taste.
There is a small cafe on the Corvera site in a Portakabin next to tennis and football courts. This can be used as a kind of “Halfway House” for the golf after the 4th or 11th hole. Miguel, who runs the bar, sometimes arranges entertainment, barbecues or can be open for big matches/ sporting events on TV. It is best to pre-book food for these events and Fridays & Saturdays .
In the village there are several tapas bars which you may wish to try. The most popular is Kema 2 which is on Corvera Main Street just before the traffic lights. Best food here is served from “the brassa” after 9.00pm. On the corner behind Kema 2 there is a small tapas bar (Juan’s)which is again good quality and very very reasonable.
In Murcia (25 minutes by car), there are restaurants for all tastes. Our favourite is La Tagliatella just to the left of the Plaza de Santo Domingo in Calle Julian Romea. Phone number is 0034 968 223 900. The Argentinian steak house is also highly recommended, just 200 yards past Murcia Cathedral front entrance on right hand side.
To park in Murcia, come off at Centro Cuidad exit (No.142 I think!!) and keep to right hand lane as you come down the slip road. Carry straight on thru the lights. You will pass a park on your right and at the end of the park you will see a bridge on your right. Again, carry straight on but about 100 yards past the bridge there is an entrance to an underground car park ( Glorieta) which is the most central for Murcia. Pay at meter before you return to leave with the car. Meter is on upper floor only.
The nearest reasonable quality Spanish restaurant is in Banos y Mendigo, turning on right between Corvera and motorway. The restaurant is next to the hotel. You can get great Paella (you have to wait about 20-30mins after ordering), choice of tapas or plated English or Spanish meal. Also, the “menu del dia” is so reasonable and good quality, €10 for 3 course meal including bottle of wine but menu is only verbal and in Spanish.
The nearest Indian is near Basilicas, just off the A30 towards San Javier about 15 minutes away. There are 2 Indian restaurants there, the Alhambra Palace. and the Jaipur. If thereare 6 or moreof you, they willpickyou up and drop you back for free...well just the tip!!
Takeaways are also available.
Open 12:00 – 15:30 & 18:00 – 23: 00
In Los Alcazeres (just past airport turning) there are many restaurants (30mins away) including El Patio.
The menu offers a range of starters including warm garlic bread and fresh salads. For main course there is a selection of meats, chicken and fish, cooked in front of you on a large indoor barbeque in winter months and outdoors in the summer.
The El Patio Restaurant is open every day from 13.00 to 16.30 and again from 19.00 to 23.30. Phone: 0034 968 575 959. There are many other restaurants in a pedestrian are near Tourist info office.
Hope this helps
