Car Hire

Anybody used Advantage Car Hire, from Alicante, any info would be grateful , especially fuel supplements etc

Hi Dave & Carol i used Advantage from Murcia got charged 76.99 for fuel and 16.17 vat at 21% can anyone exsplain this rip off. I have never been charged vat  before on fuel in all the time i have been going to Condado, is it just one car hire firm doing

It says there office is located in the Hertz car park, so i thought they could be good, looks like there using there name to make them sound good , anyone used them recently ?

Used them 2 years ago on lads trip before the fuel rip off seemed to take hold and got a mondeo for price of focus with no fuel charges!!

No doubt that wont happen again with any company, thats why we decided to buy a car rather than get ripped off every time we visited.

Simple process and saves in the long run depending on the number of times you visit!

Haven't used Advantage so can't comment on them. Used Dickman's once from Alicante and they were okay. We used to try carjet.com and then look at the best deals. However, on our last three trips we've used Gregory (cheapholidaycar) who is based at Condado. Yes, his cars are older, but they work well enough, plus you don't pay any extra for more drivers, on our last trip out there were three of us driving, and with any of the other firms we've used it would have cost an extra 6 euros a day minimum. Also, there are no hidden catches with Greg, and he picks you up from either Alicante or Murcia and brings you to Condado. I'm not sure how advance he takes bookings, but it's worth contacting him. Yes used them and they are just the same as all the other rip off merchants, low up front price then hit you when you collect the car.

I have started using Easy Options http://www.easyoption.com/en/quote/ they don’t offer a cheap up front price but the cost you are quoted is just what you pay and you return car with same fuel as on collection. When you do the online booking request it gives you the cost and when you receive the email confirmation of the cost, it’s sometimes cheaper. Plus you pay at the airport and there is no cancelation charge if you need to do so. As this company are mainly an insurance agent you also get 10% additional discount if you happen to have any existing insurance policies with them.

I have only used them a couple of times but so far so good.

Anyway not the cheapest but you know up front what you will be paying when you collect the car.
