It really depends how much they use the heating! We did a 6 weeks feb/mar a couple of years ago for around £1000. I wouldn't do it for any less than £2400!

Problem is you're up against people who are prepared to rent at £175 pw all incl over the winter as their normal rate and will discount for a long term booking. So if they have enquired elsewhere you may be up against it.

We did an 8 week let a couple of years ago at €200 pw all incl. They were good in that the heating bill wasn't horrendous but if they turn it on and leave it on then you could be in for big gas & elec bill.

Just an update on the enquiry we had.

We didn't get the booking & we were told they went with another apartment that was significantly cheaper which i believe was £ 980 for an eleven week booking all bills included......... crazy crazy people who rent it out for this , they are renting out for nothing when you factor in utilitity bills & wear & tear.

Stupid, stupid, stupid!

They cannot even be covering costs if you add in community and entidad charges.

I hate these people with a vengeance. They are totally wrecking the rental market for all of us.

With you there Pommers and Hevs  - you know my thoughts on those people - they truly undermine Roda.

What is the point of renting out a lovely apartment for such a ridiculous amount.  As you say, it doesn't even cover the utility bills and wear and tear and all the paperwork and management that goes with it.   I believe if everyone increased their rental rates then we would all benefit as the resort might then become more the place we want it to be, and we wouldn't have to keep competing with each other.  There are people out there willing to pay the going rate for a nice apartment.  We had plenty of bookings last year and we charge a realistic rate and are not giving it away.
