Does anyone know if there is broadband availabe in the area? Preferably wireless. Sounds awful but I will have to work when over sometimes!

Perhaps worth checking out the following company : http://www.tech-systems.info/index.html - they do TV, broadband etc. including satellite access, wi-fi,. community-based solutions etc, - and they're based in Mojacar.
We are certainly interested in grouping together to get TV and internet access as cheaply as possible.

Telefonica made landlines available to the earlier Huerta Nueva properties fairly recently - this includes Broadband. Don't know how long before landlines available to L.O. though. Probably a Spanish next week i.e. sometime in the future!!

Some people on LO already have a landline in and broadband set up. 

We were advised by 'Connexions' in Turre that, if we didn't want a phone line, another option was a broadband connection via microwave.  This technology makes the internet accesible even where ASDL or convential telephones can not reach.  A small dish (i do mean small) needs to be erected on the outside of the property but there is no set-up cost.  Monthly charges start at €39 per month for a 512kbps speed connection.  You can sign up for it at 'Connexions' in Turre.  You just need your NIE number and your 20 digit spanish bank account number.
