Happy New Year to everyone. I hope you had a great Christmas and New Year break.
We have just been looking at various sites, and there is no news on Los Olivos as far as we can see. Although some people have now been informed that the completion will be end January, we have received no word at all. Is there any news out there?
Best wishes, Linda

I am getting mighty cheesed off with Parador who seem to be giving some info to some clients whilst keeping the others in the dark. It has taken me 3 emails and 2 phone calls over the last few days just to be basically told "we know nothing". The last progress report from them was early Nov when they were still saying 31 Dec completion. I would know no different if it had not been for an email from BMS saying that the site would have all legal and final checks completed during January. How realistic is January? Well, with the greatest of effort similar to getting blood out of a stone, Parador eventually told me that once they have word from the builder that all final checks are made then they will contact us giving at least 4-6 weeks notice that we should go over for completion. End of Feb or early March then....maybe.
If it had not been for finding this site and gaining such valuable information from other buyers I would feel totally out on a limb. Certainly my experience so far of being in Parador's Owners Club leaves me thinking that it was a total waste of £450 that could have been well spent elsewhere.
Happy New Year to you all. I look forward to meeting you all on Los Olivos...eventually!

Happy New Year to all!!!!
We are sitting patiently here, having decided it is not worth getting stressed over. Have heard nothing from Parador either. As long as it's ready by May....... but hoping to get in to do some cleaning late Feb - anyone think this may be possible? I know some folks on Jacarandas did it, but may have been informal arrangement.
Must admit these sites are a lifeline! Looking forward to an update from Haydn & Jude soon.

Hi all and a happy New Year to you.
Last info I received from Medsea was on the 14th December saying that they could not access the site and would be visiting again the week after Christmas. Well thats now gone and I've not heard a thing. Perhaps "no news is good news!" I'll give them a few more days and keep my stress levels down by polishing off the remainder of the Christmas drinks supply.
Best wishes, Lew

Hi All
Like everyone else trying to get any news out of Parador/Solicitors/BMS is virtually impossible. I have spoken today to a loan advisor at Cajamurcia who has advised that he has spoken to BMS this morning and who have said that they wish to start completions at the end of Jan beginning of Feb. I know we are all excited about taking delivery of our properties, but am still concerned that we will be asked to complete before the communal areas are finished. I would suggest that if we do this and pay BMS the remaining 70% of the property the incentive to complete the communal areas will disappear with our money. Are there some residents on the neighbouring sites that can take some photos for us and post them on this site so that we can see the progress that is being made ?. My fairly strong feeling is that we should all stick together and insist that the communal areas are completed before we sign. Short term pain for long term benefits, there will be plenty more months of the Summer and good weather left even if we do hold out.

Hi Pam & John
Thanks for confirming what you meant & we also agree with you. But this will only work if everyone sticks together, so it would be nice to hear what every one thinks.

HI EVERYONE AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL. WE ALSO THINK WE SHOULD ALL STICK TOGETHER TO ENSURE ALL COMMON AREAS ARE FINISHED AND LICENSES OF FIRST OCCUPATION ARE GRANTED. SANDRA AND DAVID 22A.

We have no problem with this, but I guess it will be the people who are actually going to live out in Los Olivos who will be anxious to get in. Michell did send us an e mail assuring that the communal areas will be ready, but we intend to go out to do our own snagging etc, and we will be out there for several weeks. Let's keep our fingers crossed that all will be well. If you dip into other sites for different communities, I think you will find that there are few complaints about our builders or the community, compared with others. This does not mean that everything is perfect - we have seen the photographs of the unfinished washrooms by the pool!!! And the poorly thought out car parks. I have to say, when we looked at property with undergroud parking on the coast, I did think it all looked a bit tight!!!!! But overall, I think it bodes well for us.
Best wishes, Linda

Hi Everyone
As we will be living out there we also agree that the pool and garden's should be finished before parting with any more money, even lthough we are getting desperate to get in now .We too are getting no information from Medsea despite digruntled e-mail's to them i don't know if this is because they don't know anything but at least they could reply.

Breaking news!
Just been in touch with Fusters about NIE, asked about completion and got the following reply:
I have checked with BMS and they have indicated that it will be the end of the month before everything is ready and they have said that the communal pool and gardens will be finished at the same time.
If it's right........

Hello everyone and a big thanks to all the regular contributors who keep us so well informed. It is very much appreciated.
We also think that the pool and garden area should be finished before completion date as we have seen what has happened to the Jacaranda communal toilets in the pool area, still not finished 12 months later. We will also be insisting on Habitation Licence and Title Deeds being exchanged at completion.
Wishing you all a very Happy and Prosperous New Year

Have heard from Medsea. They say the builders have said they can go on site this morning & they will let us have the report as soon as it comes into the office.
Fingers crossed we get good news.

Hi All
Please find attached message from Denise Wesserling at Parador that I have recieved this afternoon.
Thank you for your mail.
We have your revised completion date as January 31, 2007. Our house inspection team will be visiting Almeria this week. We should have further updates next week when our system has been updated.
However, we recommend clients not to make any arrangements to travel to Spain until we confirm in writing that their property is finished.
I hope this information is of assistance.
Kind regards from Torrevieja,
Denise

We now have our report from Medsea. It said stage 1 & 2 have been completed. What is left of stage 3 to do is wardrobe doors to be fitted, kitchen units & exterior finish to be completed. None of stage 4 has been completed. Items listed for stage 4 is water heater, electricity & water connected, garden gate, garden cleared & cleaned, property cleaned, furniture ordered/cleaned, roads & swimming pool.
Medsea say they will next do an inspection on 4th Feb.
I have to say, I do feel disappointed again at this report as I know from some of our visits, there was other properties that were behind ours in progress. I really do think we are looking at March, April before we are asked to go over to complete now.

That does sound more than they can get done in the three weeks remaining in January. Trying to be positive though, end March, April will be a really nice time to take over!!!
Atlas also did warn us that asking for extras e.g. air conditioning to be fully installed, would or could result in delay for a particular property. But in the end, as long as the roads are made up and the gardens and pool are done properly - we will have lovely properties.
Best wishes, Linda

i agree linda, that there still a few things to be done and end of march/april seems to be more realistic. however i would rather wait a little and have it done properly. sandra/david
