EFEMurcia Agency, May 10 (EFE). - President Murcianos flagship projects (Premursa), Jesus Samper, said today that there are investors who have given themselves to provide capital to leisure theme park to be built at Paramount Alhama of Murcia, and has announced that work will begin later this summer.
At a press conference, Samper said that this week the developer of Park American leisure multinational has held meetings in Qatar and United Arab Emirates with the 'holding' companies sovereign funds, in addition to large commercial firms area, and has described the trip as "very positive" because "there are investors interested in the project."
"There are investors who have said yes, there are" said to questions from reporters, but declined to provide more specific information on issues of "confidentiality," while it has announced that the next meeting will take place seek investment in the U.S. market.
As for the construction works of the project, the entrepreneur and president of soccer club Real Murcia has announced that the construction Dragados, FCC, OHL and Ferrovial have formally requested in writing to participate in the competition for the award of the work, will be open for proposals until next June 30.
On July 15, he stated, will know the company or companies awarded the work and in late August or early September start to run the jobs.
The award of the work will be divided into a specific plan and general access infrastructure, urbanization of the shopping and entertainment complex Life Style Center, and the development and implementation of the park itself.
Companies may choose one or more of these blocks and the works will be carried out simultaneously in all three aspects.
In total, these works will cost approximately 160 million euros, and the opening of the park is planned for the second half of 2015.
It will be six months before that date, he pointed out, when Premursa start processing the recruitment and training of 6,100 jobs are expected to generate the complex when it becomes operational.
Regarding the design of the theme park, Samper has indicated that the project is developed by 95 percent, and has even already made a "virtual ride" to present the project in the U.S. city of Los Angeles, so that the initial contest may be awarded and construction of large central promenade and three of the four parts that will be divided.
Moreover, Samper denied the rumors about the possible withdrawal of the license granted by Paramount and has insisted that the situation is "the opposite", as the representatives of the company "are delighted with Murcia Alhama" and even compared the area to the state of California.
It also denied that London has not yet had another Paramount license and has detailed in the British capital have not yet even begun the process to know whether or not a theme park, nor is there any design.
"Right now, the only license in Europe is in Alhama Paramount," he underlined, adding that having written statement of the company operations chief saying the number one strategic interest for a theme park is the town of Murcia.

Just seen pictures in "MURCIA TODAY" www.murciatoday.com  . A  REPORT that the Council at Alhama de Murcia approved the plan as indicated in this post by ajw. Lots of times we seem to have been at this stage but who knows the recession might be the most solid argument  for pushing on and finally doing it.   

Spain needs to keep refreshing its tourist offerings and compete with the likes of Turkey and other destinations .  With the possiblity of a new Airport on the doorstep who know which way it will go from here , But lets hope for the wonderful people of Murcia Region it happens !

Premursa Society Theme Park SA awarded the company Ferrovial Agroman SA construction of the Paramount Theme Park to be held in Murcia (Spain), for an amount of 52 million euros. This contract includes the construction of the 2nd phase of construction of the park, which will be held simultaneously with the first phase, which will mean an increase in the amount contracted. Also awarded the works to improve access and urbanization of the hotel zone, shopping and entertainment district, called Lifestyle Center, the company CHM Works and Infrastructure SA for an amount of 20 million euros.

Premursa Theme Park SA started the preparatory work the land in order that the next January to begin work on access, development and construction of the park, anticipating the end of them in the last quarter of 2015.

C'mon Jay, i know you Arsenal fans are getting excited at the moment, but all the coys mentioned below will need to go bust a few times, have the assets split up and transferred to a load of investors who then need to go bust, then find out no ones got any licences, that some councillors have done a runner with half the dosh and finally the owners of Peppa Pig World (c'mon Darren where are you?) will refuse to transfer their staff and amusement rides due to disagreements over the compensation payments following their tripling of the size of their park in the month before Paramount was due to open 

Though I would love Paramount to open not just for those of us who wish to rent but for the people in the area. The opportunity for employment both during the build & afterwards will be fantastic.

However it is alright giving companies contracts but where is the money coming from?.

Surely these companies won’t start work until they know the money is in the bank & according to the write up there will need to be at least 122 million Euros to complete all three sections. The last I read, there was only one pledge for 50 million from a Russian investor but he seems to have dropped off the edge of the page now.

There is more chance of Garden 2 getting its solar heated pool, than there is of Paramount getting funding.  Although it’s close!

Which is a shame, I love Rollercoaster’s and especially like dropping a collection of nuts & bolts in the bottom of the carriage, then pointing them out to the person next to me as we are about to descend the big drop. The looks on their faces are priceless!

In the mean time I will have to make do with the swings & slides that Polaris World built in front of my apartment, instead of the lovely pool they showed me on the plans!

Peppa Pig Park has also gone quiet. I hope this doesn’t end up as another pink pig, I mean White Elephant, like Corvera Airport, Paramount and Hannah Montana Land.

Peppa Pig World like San Javier Airport continues to do very nicely thank-you. I'm planning a massive expansion of it over the next 18 months

Hey Dave,

Do you fancy getting a coach then us Northerners can making a pilgrimage to this south coast paradise? “Miss Rabbits Helicopter Flight” looks amazing. Why does the South get all the best stuff? Better Weather, Running Water, Street Lights and now Peppa Pig! We can pick up Ham & Jan on the way; I know they will be up for it!

It does still amaze me how long the region of Murcia & Jesus Samper has been able to keep this charade alive, it’s been 6 years now and people are buying properties on the belief that it may still happen? Although I suppose that’s why they do it!

Actually what am I saying? I wouldn’t mind selling up, so I should be promoting Paramount to increase my resale value!

I am now a believer!!! I can’t wait till 2015 when I can buy my season pass! This place will be even better than Peppa Pig World!
