Depending how long you are thinking of staying I believe you can take your own car to Spain and your insurance should cover it. We went to France recently and our car was automatically covered by our own insurance for a limited period, but check with your insurer first. I don't know the logistics of owning a car in Spain so hopefully somebody on this forum should.

Hi, I bought my car in uk used it for 6 -12 months on Uk plates then changed to Spanish. I needed a vehicle with a tow bar so hire cars were no good for me. Did not cost too much to change and used cars in uk seem cheaper than Spanish that all seem to have a billion kilometres on the cloc. Pm me if you want to know more as people tend to drift and you can get conflicting info. Cheers Neil

Can anyone tell me what the MOT and tax equivalent in Spain is as considering a car too, need a 7 seater so thought best to buy here and transfer once we get across?
