All the lakes except the one in front of the golf club are empty, completely dry. It looks a mess and whilst I know water is an expense for the course owners, the image and feel of the course does not match the reputation that is needed to attract new clientele.
I cannot see this changing until there is real new investment in the course by new owners. That won't come until there is new investment in the area, and that means something happening with Paramount to trigger it. That's why Corvera will not open as there is not enough foot fall to justify it currently.
The two lakes at the bottom of the course that no body can see could be filled in. The other three could be partially filled to reduce the capacity but any work like that would cause some damage or disruption to the course for a period and all this would cost money which IRM don't have.
The good news is that the condition of the course, using water from the one remaining lake, is very good and at least standards of green keeping and overall maintenance appears to be continuing and is the most important thing. JF
