The AGM will be held in the morning of Saturday 7th December 2013.The main function is to report on the previous year, sign off on the budget, and elect the officers for 2014
The date is one which should ensure a good turnout of Spanish owners. English speaking owners who want to have their say in how the resort is run and cannot attend will need to make use of the proxy vote system to stand as or elect their block presidents

The AGM for Terrazas, which will be on 7th December is important for all owners. In a time where debts are a growing problem and controlling the cost of good services is vital, the people who take the responsibility as presidents at different levels are crucial to the development of the resort.
That the AGM takes place at the beginning of December on a holiday weekend ensures that a large number of Spanish owners will take part, as in the last couple of years, and very few Brits and Northern Europeans, who make up more than half of the ownership. This can only be changed by a vote at the AGM so it is something of an unchanging circle. The Spanish owners clearly vote for a date which suits them and for presidents of their own persuasion, not unreasonably!
The only way to change this is to ensure that there are enough proxy votes, from those not able to attend, to enable a vote changing the date to a more neutral time such as late spring or late summer.
So – you can make a difference. Go to http://www.tltgr.org/9.html contact Resortalia and get a proxy vote form to give your vote to the block president of your choice, who will be attending the meeting. Make sure you get the Block President you want and a date for the meeting where you could attend in future.

Do you know who your block president is?
Do you ever hear from your block president? Does the Bad Bank or Polaris World hold the presidency of your block?
If you want a say in the running of your resort use your proxy vote as Nic says, There will be fellow countrymen/women at the AGM who can vote your proxy for you or you can instruct Resortalia on how you want to vote
Being a block president isn't hard work and you don't even have to be present at the AGM to stand as block president, it can all be done by proxy.
Anyone in 269, 270,286,287 or 290 willing to stand please contact me.

My Parents have just purchased an appartment in block 275 on Terrazas
they will not be about for the AGM nor do they wish to stand as president, however I'm sure they will wish to have their say. Does anyone know how if they will have this opportunity this year or will they have to wait until next year?
p.s. was over for a day last week sorting this and over again in two weeks to finish off the appartment and have a wee holiday
Grace

Block 275 does have a block president, block presidents meet three or four times a year and are elected at the AGM. If there are issues that your parents wish to have raised at these meetings they should communicate them to their block president via resortalia or contact their phase president at pf2@tltgr.org.

Thanks Henry, As the block is just finished I wasn't sure there would be a president yet! Would contacting the phase president be the best way to find out who the block president is?

As noted it is very important that owners are represented in the running of the resort. There are many important decisions about priorities in use of owners community fees, who provides security, who are the administrators etc. They affect ALL owners. Therefore you as an owner should make sure your block has a President and one who is active in affecting the decisions. Attending meetings is not always essential as proxy votes can be assigned to other Presidents if needed.
The following Blocks in Phase 1 do not currently have a President:
1,2,3,4,5,6,7,9,13,14,16,17,21,22,23,24,31,33,36,37,38,41,44,45,49,50,51,52,54,55,56,57,59
If you are an owner in one of these disenfranchised blocks, please put your name forward, or agree with one of your neighbours for him or her to stand, and get your proxy vote organized for the AGM. Only by doing this can we make sure that the AGM and the elected Phase and Resort Presidents are representative of the whole resort.

Contract changes can cost us all
It seems from the recent Block president meeting that the community, driven by the committee of Phase presidents, is about to change the security supplier for the staff used.
Further it seems likely that we will all have to contribute to paying some substantial legal compensation for this as the contract has a period left to run, and that a new contract with a new supplier may be more expensive. One must surely question the motives of some members of the committee who want to break with Vigilante, the current security supplier. Just about all owners have only good things to say about the security staff and service, we, as a Community, seem to be shooting ourselves in the foot.
There are also worrying rumours that some Spanish members of the committee also wish to change from Resortalia as administrator. Like any other company, there are always points to be improved, but Resortalia represents a central competence and stability in the Resort, which is much needed at the moment. They have generated many improvements for the resort and kept their prices stable over recent years.
So if you as an owner are concerned over these developments, make sure that:
- You have a Block president you know and trust (why not you yourself?)
- You give your proxy vote to someone who is attending the AGM in December so he or she can use it.
- Make sure your Block president´s proxy vote is given for use at the AGM (some votes are only for Block presidents)
- If possible attend the AGM or at least give your views to someone who will, and can make them known.

Yes the AGM is on Sat. 7th Dec. The info. on the web site is now updated by Resortalia. See here:
http://www.tltgr.org/12.html
There is also a link to the proxy vote form which must be completed and returned to Resortalia, stating who you give your proxy to.
Replying to Jan, I dont think we can do much before the AGM as the committee (Phase Presidents and Resort President) seem to have taken a decision to go down this path.

I am attending, hoping the map that Resortalia are sending this week is easier to understand than last weeks. I have tried looking at Google earth for the coordinates without luck. Any help appreciated please.
