I used to like the water feature ,until this summer , we took our 2 year old Grandson out with us and all he wanted to do was run around and play , OMG , our hearts were in our mouth , it's just not safe for children , the rope around the water would not stop children falling in , I'm surprised an accident hasn't happened , so I'm sorry but I agree with filling it in and replacing it with a play area for kids , may be a crazy golf area and some of the ideas already mentioned on this post , keep the kids happy and we can all have some peace lol Dave

plenty of play areas for the kids elsewhere on site to run around. The simple answer is if you dont want your kids going in the water. dont let them run around when in the Al Kazar.
Its bad enough with it being like bar wars during the summer, but filling a feature in just so it makes it safer for the kids. Crazy!!!

Don’t believe this
I thought this thread was about noise. Someone adds a sensible comment about being able to reduce the amplification by adding tree`s which is often found in many other places similar to Al kazar and now we are falling out over a comment about child safety.
I may be wrong but I don’t think that the comment by Rich & Bops was saying that child safety is not important. I think the comment has been taken out of context here.

Redrose, child safety isnt crazy, far from it, but the thought of making a play area just for kids is, especially when there are plenty of other areas around the resort for kids to play safe in...
Or would having a play area by the bars just make it easier so you can get drunk and the kids are still close by???

Firstly, I dont drink!! Secondly mine are far too old to be attracted by the water. Thirdly, , as I said if the kids are happy the paents are happy....so do you want parents to leave little Johnny in Jardine 13 park while they go to eat and drink. Kids get bored in Al Kasar...it is not child friendly...all there is for kids are those awful tack- filled machines outside almost every business. When the game zone opens the teenagers will be happier. At the height of the season look how many kids were cycling around the water discarding their bikes wherever they wanted. Surely a child friendly park, with a bike stand would be a better idea??? We have friends who go to the Condado Club as it is a much safer environment! Where in the Uk do you know that has a water feature like Al Kasar with a rope around it. The HSE in the Uk would go mad!!! Jan, how else would you read that comment? I am now being accused of wanting to change Al Kasar so I can get drunk and let my kids run riot!! As I have said earlier Elarado"s ideas make far better sense than the dirty water feature we have now. The workmen clean and clean and as fast as they clean the wind brings more sand. I believe the water feature was originally meant to have a cooling effect on Al Kasar...it just seems such a waste of space.

so basically what yuor saying is, for those who dont have kids, we either put up with them running wild and making a racket not only round the pool ( peak Season ), but also when we eat our eveing meal. or we go off site every night to somewhere thats not got any kids.
As i said there are enough places for the kids to play on the resort without turing the Al Kazar into a Wackie Warehouse.. you have already mentioned the Condado Club, then you have the various parks on site.
I'd rather see my money spent in better areas to be honest

Redrose.
I did not & would not accuse anyone of wanting to get drunk. Having foolishly allowed myself to do that on a number of occasions when very young & very foolish. Much older and wiser now.

I was not saying we should not post, just that it seemed to me that we were drifting away from the theme of the thread i.e. noise into child safety. A very important issue, but not the basis of the thread.
How about if we all kiss & makeup. Life is far too short to fall out when we are lucky enough to own a property in a beautiful part of Spain & on a fantastic place like Condado.

I know the thread is going off track a bit as it was originally about the noise level at Al Kasar but I would just like to say that on my first visit to the resort one the the things which made it stand out and which really impressed me was the water feature at Al Kasar. Personally this is not something I would like to lose. I do agree more of a feature could be made of it. Perhaps a water fountain in the centre ? As our resort gets busier I am sure there will come a time when there may be more organised activities or options for keeping little ones amused while parents/grandparents enjoy a little relaxation time but if there was an immediate safety issue another alternative might be to put a clear acrylic PSV fence around it. Something which doesn't impede view of feature but which also provides a barrier to little ones getting too close.

has there been an incident with the water feature in the 5 years since the resort opened? I would personally love it to be turned into a proper swimming pool and a swim up bar. That would get people in to the town centre through the day etc.

A pool with a swim up bar sounds very interesting...and if it was a heated pool then I am sure people would flock to it in the cooler months which would give a boost to all businesses! :)
Alternatively, and more on topic, maybe they could consider building a central platform in the 'water feature' area accessible by walkways designed to accomodate entertainment (singers, bands, shows, etc) which all Al Kasar bars and restaurants contribute towards to maintain an entertainment program. That way everyone benefits from the entertainment and we still retain water in Al Kasar (which I think is quite nice).
From what I have seen The Clover and Bulgharian Bistro do great at the moment with laying on entertainment but I have read of instances where the two sometimes conflict which of course helps no-one.
That said, as a new owner on Condado and having no prior knowledge of the resort (and no real gripes about the place) I have to say what we have at the moment is pretty good, it's very convenient, we have good choice and above all there seems to be some businesses which are trying to inject a community feel to the place. Well done all.

A swimming pool next to licensed premises is a recipe for disaster. In fact my friend is in Condado at the moment and the other day some lowlife scumbags -and, yes, that is exactly what they are in my book- decided to urinate in broad daylight next to the pool on Jardin 11. Four twenty somethings. it was a FEMALE who did this. They were, of course, less than sober but if that's the behaviour mid afternoon then God help us should the likes of these get even more drink as the night wears on. It would be a miserable experience for pretty much everyone watching ar*****es like this bombing and carousing around a pool whilst we tried to digest our dinner! Just my opinion. Mind you, a heated, communal pool in a central location is a great idea. Just not in Al Kasar.

I feel I need to post. All this chat about the pool is irrelevant . The alkasar is owned by IRM and has nothing to do with the community at all the same as the golf course. IRM inherited as debt from Polaris , they will not spend any money on it. maintaining it is paid for by he business as a percentage as is the electricity and cleaning. All businesses have leases so it would not be a valid cost to change anything. We have even asked for the pumps to kept it clean and the lights to be fix but that is even a expense to much. The town Center is a vast improvement on what we had but inside improvements will not happen. If this thread is to continue can someone please restart under a new heading. Neil

So basically, you are saying that a company, whose core business is golf, are in control of the centre of your community; a company who have no interest in developing retail outlets to maximise potential and appeal.
It is a great shame, instead of bar/restaurants closing for the winter months, with a few changes people would visit from the surrounding areas and build a thriving business community…
Futurum erit ut te exspectare quid vobis!
