Please can anyone tell me due to the high volume of thefts and breakings at condado
why are not ALL VANS being searched on exit of condado ?
its obviously that the stolen property is being taken off site
also why are people who use vans for there business on condado allowed
quick exit passes ? this means they never get checked (not saying thease people are stealing but someone is )
passes should be for family cars only
if these thefts cannot dispose of there stolen goods
than may be they will not steal from us
also why aren't a list of vans leaving condado and how many were searched being recorded

I've spoken to rob leverton at Condado home improvements, he is fitting window locks on our apartment. He charges €20 for the single window on an upstairs apartment and €70 for all four on a ground floor. Louandlev@yahoo.co.uk or 676028725 if anybody is interested

I'd be delighted if all vans were checked as you suggest. It does make sense. Various small items such as hosepipes, garden ornaments etc have disappeared from properties. I doubt if organised gangs coming into the resort would bother with such small items on a sporadic basis. The larger stuff like bikes and washing machines could well be going off site though.

if some low life takes items from the outside of a property they are scum
and this should not happen but these items were properly unlocked
but if someone was to break into apartment then this is all together
a different mater
this thread is very quite why?
property's have lost a lot of value but if this carries on condado will became unsalable
is the answer to put steel bars on the windows ,bet someone is already on to that
SEARCH ALL VANS GOING OUT RESEDENTS OR NOT
because if I had a business on condado and drove a van I would insist security search my van
to show I was total honest (I am not accusing a local resident business but lets clear ourselves first )
or lets wait while these scum bastards spoil our dream.

I'm inclined to agree with this suggestion of searching all traffic entering and leaving. Honest residents and visitors will not object to this if it means peoples property purchased with their hard earned cash remains in the possession of the rightful owners!!! Condado is a lovely place and let's hope it remains that way. We are not permanent residents but our apartment is used by ourselves, friends and family as often as possible usually not in winter, unfortunately. I do understand that people wish to rent out their properties longterm but if prospective tenants are unknown to them they should be demanding references from previous landlords. Again most prospective tenants would be happy to provide contact details eg email or telephone no.unless they have something to hide! Undoubtedly the majority of people are honest and trustworthy and there are scumbags everywhere but Condado does seem to have attracted more than its share of scumbags who still feel it's perfectly ok to help themselves to other peoples property. I think searching all traffic would be a deterrent unless the stolen property is not leaving the resort.

i total agree with the comments and would be more than happy to be searched leaving CDA.
any scum who is prepared to steal should be hung up by the short and curlies. it would be interesting to find out if ML have a list of properties where the thefts have taken place and whether it was from solariums/ terraces or it was a physical forced entry.
yes we have security on the gate i personaly would be happy to pay an extra small premium every month to have an increase in security patrols or do head towards a ""Big Brother"" situation with security cameras placed round the entire resort.
if anyone is caught stealing we should be able to ban them from the resort for life.

Still think all car boots could be opened and security could glance in. Agree short term holiday makers won't be paying excess baggage for bikes and patio furniture!! But best not discriminate!

Maybe we should start volunteering our boots to be searched so security get the message that owners want this to take place. Pull up at security, open your boot and ask for them to check inside. If people see others doing this they will think it is normal and this may bring about a change in security habits.

If reports are correct of 42 bikes being stolen....they must have been stolen to sell...have you considered the fact that cyclists just ride on out....Butthen again I am sure they wouldnt tell security it was stolen if asked!! Again if I was leaving the reaort with 4 bikes on a bike rack...how would security know they were mine!!!
I have heard of people arriving at their apartment to find their near neighbours helping themselves to their patio furniture!
I am more than happy to have my car searched but unfortunately stolen property does not have the word stolen stamped all over it, so I don't see what good it would do...in my opinion, it is up to us to secure our homes and property...i believe only 2 homes have physically been burgled...the majority of these belongings have been easily lifted....
Camposol are having daily burglaries so security do as good a job as they can!

These type of thefts around urbabnisations are unfortunately very common and as I have posted here before you have to unfortunatley take basic precautions on your own sercurity making it more attractive to go elsewhere, I am sorry it is unfortunate that you have to do this
The factys are that often this is an inside job, this has been provuen on a number of sites and people RENTING or WORKING onsite who are not necessarily regularly stopped
Simple things like external PIR lights that come on if you get close to the property, dummy or real alarms, thinks like the Friedland SL2 where the dummy and real boxes are identical, cameras
Don't believe the people telling you that you cannot have an alarm with an external siren, a good dummy box works
Guardian a PIR light that also records activity onto a memory card
On the bikes perhaps the communities could intrioduce some form of offical ID card with a description of the specific bike on that could be checked on the gate
You should always chain your furniture up by cementing a fixing ring into the wall and rund the chain through the furniture
Additional door pins and finally somebody checking your property on a regular basis
Please dont't believe all of the hearsay about break ins, yes it is a big problem but it does get exaggerated in some areas, remember personal home security measures are easy

Inspectahomespain ....your points are well written and there are a few I would need to take heed of myself! The ID card for bikes is a wonderful idea!!
Barri,
Judging by the characters on here...I don't think anyone is afraid to say anything!! However, I do think there are those who would prefer things not be said...in case it affects property sales etc.
I will choose to ignore the comment about the 42 bikes exiting security at the same time!!

I agree we should improve our own home security
but we do have and pay for 24 hour security and they need to up there game
all I would like is for
all vans to be checked without exception
I bet when you are trying to sell your property's your selling points
would be the gated community with 24 hour security
is it right Halfords are opening on condado

We have just returned from site, and have witnessed a couple of times security opening the exit barrier to vehicles without them using a exit card. Maybe security know these vehicles, I don't know. I don't think we have ever seen any vehicles stopped on exit from site, it would mean the security guard would have to get up out of his seat,!

On our previous two visits as owners security have given us a laminated card to place in our windscreen so we get waved in and out, they never leave their seat. Maybe that is what you have been witnessing?
