Today I recieved a leaflet from a Local Lady wording below it relates to the land owner adjacent the Jardins.
" They want to open a big Motorcross Circuit 700 meter nearby Condado de Alhama
The daily acoustic damage will affect our health and well being and must not be allowed. The nuisance generated will devalue property and bring to an end the peace and tranquility of former times.
The regional council will accept petitions against this Motorcross Circuit, as is your right as an EU Citizen.
PLEASE HELP US TO STOP IT! PLEASE SIGN AGAINST IT !
www.activism.com/en_EU/petition-against-motorcross-circuit-nearby-condado-de-alhama/45674
or
go to www.activism.com.en_EU and search for Condado"
Thank you to the Lady who brought this to my attension, now let's all try to stop this we dont want to be listening to motorbikes 8am - 10pm 7 days a week. Not to mention property devaluation, loss of rentals etc.
Act now time is limited,
Thanks for reading.

The link doesnt work, try this;
http://www.activism.com/en_EU/petition/petition-against-motocross-circuit-nearby-condado-de-alhama/45674
I notice though that the planned place for the Motocross park is across two motorways, will noise pollution even be a factor - can you hear the cars now? And wont a Motocross circuit that will potentially attract people to the area enhance rental potential if its used for competition?

Hi Mick
I don’t mind signing this petition but looking @ the map on the web site (& I have to admit that I am not very good @ spacial awareness) I wonder just how badly it will affect us. It does appear to be quite a way away from Condado & I wonder if the lady in question will be far more affected than us & just wants to get more names on the petition. If that is the case then I do feel very sorry for her but a more truthful approach would have been better.
I suppose the people most affected will be those on Condado that are nearer to the motorway
If they feel it will affect them then I am happy to sign & I know Ham would too. I have to agree with Crashtester & would be interested in the views of other Condadonians before adding my name though
Jan

Jan,
The Motorcross happens quite often on Sundays and can be clearly heard above the motorway in Jardin 4.
For those who can live with the noise for a few weeks holiday then it is not a problem, for those who live on Condado it will be unpleasant. if its all day 7 days a week.
I have brought this to owners attension but signing the petition is up to individuals.
Crashtester
Thanks for the correction.

It is 1km from the closest apartment (on the corner) to the projected site, you may hear something if the wind is in that direction....
Give the Spanish a chance.....they need to create jobs....
The leaflet is total over-reaction.........

Totally agree with Mick, and will be signing petition, and if it does go ahead, will be putting up for sale! As for increasing rental income...dream on. A moto -cross cicuit will do nothing for the site, but detract from it, and create noise pollution. Don't think because it looks like it is a long way away on the map, you won't hear the constant high pitch drone of the bikes, no matter where you are on site (not just near motorway). When we first bought 5 years ago, they use to temporarily hold events in a similar area, and the noise was intolerable. If you are happy walking around the site with earplugs...enjoy!

Oh Dear, Oh Dear, Oh Dear.
Now I am going to put the cat amongst the pigeons.
I also thought this was about a new venture.
Here we are again. The Brits trying to rule the roost.
If you choose to buy or to live in another country you have got to learn that it’s “Their country”
“We” are always complaining when “foreigners” living in the UK don’t want to conform to our way of life & our rules so why should we expect it to be any different for us in a different country.
We bought on Condado because we were told there would be many Spanish families living there and that’s what we wanted. Why people buy abroad if they are not prepared to integrate etc is beyond me. The Spanish people need to earn a living just like the rest of us.
If all you really want is just the sun & you are not bothered about the people, their culture etc then why not buy in Benidorm or somewhere like that.
Sorry Benidorm but you are not for us.
Jan

All,
I think that the lady coimg around Condado trying to drum up support has been somewhat misleading people. ( wonder what she told security to gain access? )
The facility she is refering to is at Canadas del Romeras and has been there for years, see http://www.hospederiaruralthebalcones.com/servicios/restaurante , it was there before condado was even built and I sure many like me can remember it from years ago when they run the moto cross events a few times a year.
When she moved into the village she raised a denounca against Los balconies so the authorities shut them down last year whilst they were investigating. I beleive that a village meeting was held and she was the only one against the track!. Anyway, having fully investigaed the council agreed to reinstate the licence, a notice was placed on the BORM giving people 30 day to raise objections ( which ended on Oct 30th ), so she is has trying to gain support from residents of Condado and Camposol. I'm told that the enviroment agency did a number of noise tests and there was more noise from trucks going up the RM23 than from the test bikes going around the track, the noise that mick mentions on recent Sundays is coming from a seperate private track in the ground of the red finca the other side of the fence from Jardin 5, NOT from Los Balconies that hasn't held an event this year. Los Balconies offer many events from Tennis, paint ball, bicycle races etc not just Moto cross which are only held a few times each year NOT daily as is being suggested. If you really feel strongly enough to object, then fine that is your right but how about visiting Los Balconies personally first and getting the whole story rather than just believing the propaganda of one resident of canadas, and why not stay for lunch there and enjoy their great Tapas.

All
It seems i over re-acted after being misled by a leaflet, as PTAN says the Motorcross noise i refer to was from the Red House, and I thought that the Petition was about this not the track over the 2 motorways.
Therefor I apologise here for misleading any readers on this forum.
I am not concerned about any activity that far away.
Sorry

We've been to Los Balcones and loved it, especially their lovely swimming pool. Mind you it was after the walk to it via El Pareton as we couldn't get bikes out. We went the long way round but you can easily walk there in about 45 minutes. The service was great, and the food fantastic! We also went there with the Golf Society on Ladie's day and had a great time. I would thoroughly recommend it.

I am as well a neighbor close to the motocross, not that close like Condado but affected and therefore I am updating myself on this issue in the councils.
Up to now we coulnd't hear a lot of noise because it is forbidden form Mazarron and Totana Council and owing to the comunity a lot of money because they didn't paid their fines. BUT now they want to legalize and open the circuit and then the noise pollution will come !!!!
I don't care about the Hotel, Restaurant and Bar which they running at Los Balcones, but please no motocross so close to rural/residential area. They can still sell their tapas without motorbikes. Can't they? They can still run tennis, paint ball, swimming pool and what ever else but please no motocross with so much nuisance.
You need to think that cars/trucks etc. on the motorway using silencers, in motocross the bikes have open engines. No silencers. they up 10 times louder......and now imagine having on competition days 100 bikes running. Then I want to see you enjoying your pool area or having a walk in the neighborhood.
We have more then enough motocross circuits in the area: Mazarron in front of BP & REPSOL, Totana, Industiy area in Alaham de Murcia.....I think there is no need to open one so close where people living.
When Codando was build, there was no motocross and nobody said to people buying at Condado that there will be one. You can check that on areal photos of the past years. All other houses around the track has been build before they tried to open the circuit.
Phil, did you have been at the environment department in Murcia and did you seen the test that they have made? Oh no, you "have been told that...". Who told you this?
There was no test made by the authority. Only a sound test made by a freelancer and this test will be always good for his client. Enough ways to manipulate this. Easy to say that a truck on the highway is louder isn't it ? I have been up to Murcia and I have read the documentation.
I think everybody with a little bit of common sense understands: Motocross 20 km away from any residential area.
