In the process of purchasing an apartment on Las Terrazas and solicitor has asked us to choose a Spanish bank. Would be grateful of any recommendations, heard Solbank is ok.

Hi, Welcome to Terrazas. The bank we have used for the last 3 years is Sabadell Solbank in Los Alcazares 17 mins away from Terrazas.

I use Caja Murcia who have a sub-branch and cash machine at La Torre and also branches and cash machines in Roldan and Balsicas. I have Internet banking which is good and find their staff helpful as well as the e-mail queries answered promptly. No off shore call centres like the UK

We use Caja Mar which has a branch in Balsicas. Internet banking good and staff helpful. Cajas are building societies and each area has its own just like we use to have in the UK

Thanks for all the info. Our solicitor is opening it on our behalf and apparently sabadell bank will only let you open an account in person, is cajamar the same? Many thanks

yes it is.
We also have a UK Santander bank account which is handy if you want to draw money out of your UK bank account as Santander do not charge if this is done via their ATM (one at San Javier). The exchange rate is fine as well.

Are lawyer has just opened one at Barclays for us said there good for internet banking , had to send copy of utility bill and wage slips over to them , we complete on the 17 December
