Have been a couple of times . I normally stay at the melia hotel in the town but I know that is quite xpensive but great hotel.
The cable car ride is long ( and can sway a bit) it is also rammed in the mornings. If you have children when approaching stay on the left side as they allow children and adults to go in a separate queue to get on first.
Many good small restraunts some do fondu. One bar gave a tapa with every drink order and this was enough for me and my wife.
Great atmosphere, could just as well be in Austria or France as buildings seem the same.
Good open air ice rink and very cheap as well.
We went to British ski hire ( they have a web site and you can book lessons and ski hire on line) they also give details of ski passes which are quite pricey.
If driving there you may need snow chains. I was lucky both times but on a bad snowfall day you can be turned away if you do not have them. You can buy them from garages on the motorway close to Granada.
Have a great time and I would recommend the melia hotel in the town for the extra money. It is right in town so no traveling to and from and a great pool looking out onto ski slopes.
Regards
Neil
