So I now read that the robbers have moved to Jardine 9........ I know that security have been doing some ad hoc checks - surely now we need as a community to insist that ALL vehicles leaving the resort are checked......what's the big problem? It might add 30 seconds to our journeys but it will save hours of sorting out if you are broken into - plus....as owners/residents surely we want to live on a secure resort. I know they have upped checking but not every vehicle is being checked and last week I read that one of the gates was permanently open allowing any Tom Dick or Harry to enter into and out of the resort.
Come on security - do what you are being paid to do.....
As for the comment about a resident finding a hidden stash and keeping it for themselves - well that beggers belief..... they need reporting to the police as much as the robbers..... Also.... why haven;t security found these items on their supposedly heightened checks.......

This is very poor indeed! I have two mates who have apartments on terraza la Torres and we often joke about how ott security us on that site, however given what's happening on our resort I'd happily work with the extra scrutiny rather than what's happening of late. Seriously, take a trip out to terraza and let me know if they let you in.

I don't think that will make much difference, they could quite easily be climbing over the fence and passing stuff back through or over the fence, especially where it is really quiet, physical patrols around the gardens and around the perimeter are needed.

andyclarke I agree completely - all security needs to be upped. foot patrols and gate inspections. The gate security are there anyway - so should make no difference. there day will be no longer but they have the opportunity to catch someone. surely those that work in security must get a buzz out of that. Isn't that what security is there for?

Not wanting to tempt fate but the dogs on Jardines 13 might be helping to protect us! Every cloud has a silver lining and all that.
I hope the security rounds are varied and the thieves haven't worked out a pattern!
It looks like there are sensors on the boundary fence, does anyone know if this is the case and if they are plugged-in?
Community CCTV, monitored from the gates is the answer in my opinion.

Why does each garden not have. a whip round and buy a a dozen cameras & dozen dummy cameras. the thefts would stop overnight if these people who are breaking into properties thought they are being filmed .it would cost very little if most people put into it.

Barri - where did your comment come from? Where does it say that residents don't want to be searched...... I would think that all residents whether they are there all the time or there once or twice a year would still want to live on a secure and safe resort.

Seriously, why don't they install CCTV cameras? I don't mind a couple of euros onto my monthly fees for this. How many properties contribute to the pot? If,say, 1000 pay the two euros pm surely this is enough to install and maintain them? Wouldn't that just be the end of the burglaries?

You'd need alot of cctv cameras to view every jardin at good angles so its not as cost effective as you may think. There are also data protection issues (even if you think thats unfair) and surprisingly training before they can be utilised. Then theres maintenance and updating. Owners need to secure their properties properly so that theives dont see so many properties as such easy targets. Once that is done the word gets out that its not easy pickings. Better security patrols and frequent car checks support all of that and send the message its not worth anyones time. In fairness security can thoroughly patrol a garden and even do a timed key check but CdA is huge- so once they are gone how long before they check back....anyone waiting would know they have time especially if they have already sussed out places tgey want to rob.
