for some unknown reason I cannot find the details we had from Alicante to Condado or those from San Javier to Condado.

i guess people have requested them before but I wondered if anyone could post again please.

We have friends going out in May &^ June, some arriving @ Alicante & others into San Javier

Thanks

Jan

There you Jan found this one. :)

Condado de Alhama – Directions from Alicante Airport

Total journey time is approx. 1 hr and 15 mins (120 kms). If using a Sat Nav then ‘Condado de Alhama’ or ‘Signature Course Alhama’ should be found as a golf course.

Take A7/E15 West to Murcia City. After about 35 to 40 mins when coming through the outskirts of Murcia you will find that for a short time the A7 becomes the A30 to Murcia/Cartagena. About 2km after passing the huge Nuevo Condomina shopping centre (and Real Murcia football stadium) on your right and the Thader shopping centre and Ikea on your left, take the exit/salida 138 to A7/E15 Almeira & Granada (but see alternative route below if this exit is missed). Continue on towards Alhama de Murcia and after approx 20 mins ignore the first exit to Alhama de Murcia and about 1 to 2 kms after the El Pozo factory on your right (with high temp/time digital sign) take exit/salida 627b (not 627a) to Cartagena/Fuente Alamo/Mazarron/RM2. After 4 km on RM2 take exit 4 to Mazarron/RM23 and take RM23 to Mazarron. After about 5km on RM23 (and about 2km before you get to where the RM23 joins/turns into the RM3) take exit 5 to Condado de Alhama and take the left turn on the roundabout slip flyover and go up the Palm tree lined entrance road into the resort. When at the roundabout with the large Condado sign go straight over and keep going straight on until you see on the right the Al Kasar shopping centre through a security gate.

Alternatively instead of taking the exit 138 to A7/E15 above in Murcia you can follow the A30 through Murcia and up over the surrounding mountains South towards Cartagena. Then after about 20 minutes from Murcia and about 15 minutes before Cartagena take RM-2 to Fuente Alamo/Alhama de Murcia. Drive for about 15 minutes on the RM-2 passing exits to Fuente Alamo & Hacienda del Alamo (a golf resort visible on your right). As you come down a slope looking at Alhama de Murcia in front of you with the Sierra Espuna mountain behind it, take the RM-23 motorway exit to Mazarron which is just before you get to Alhama de Murcia. The RM-23 Mazarron motorway is a left at the roundabout. After 5 minutes down the RM-23 towards Mazarron (& 2kms before it joins/turns into the RM3) you will come to an exit (salida 5) to Condado de Alhama .

By the way, on the return to Alicante there is a Petrol Station 5 km short of the airport.

Returning to Alicante Airport

Head back towards the main roundabout that puts you on to the RM23, take the 1st exit signposted Alhama de Murcia.  Continue on this road until ends a big roundabout leading on to the RM2 – signposted Alhama de Murcia & Cartagena; take the 3rd exit for Alhama de Murcia.  Carry on this road & you will see signs for the A7 Murcia; the RM2 splits & you need to take the righthand lane for Murcia; merge with the A7 motorway.

Continue along A7, you will pass the El Pozo sign (on your left) & the next town marker is Alcantarilla; after this town maintain your heading towards Murcia.  You will start to pick up signs for A30 Murcia/Cartagena, continue on the A7 Elche/Alcante.  When the road splits you need the lefthand lanes – there will be flashing LED signs telling you to slow down due to the bend.

You continue on the A7 for approx 30 mins; you will not see signs for the airport until you need to turn off!  When you pass the town of Elche, keep heading for Alcante.  You will know you are close to the airport as there will be a set of services either side of the motorway, but the one on the left will have a hotel next to it (none of the other services have this).  The very next exit will be for the airport.  The airport is signposted all the way from there.  There are lots of roads joining & exiting so just keep your wits about you.

And this one Jan :)

DIRECTIONS TO CONDADO FROM SAN JAVIER AIRPORT

·        Leave airport and follow signs for AP7 Cartagena.

·        Join AP7 at slip road signposted for AP7 Cartagena (blue and white sign) and travel on AP7 for a short distance (to exit number 790)

·        Leave AP7 at Exit 790 signposted for Torre Pacheco.

·        Keep following signs for Torre Pacheco – you will pass the Polaris World Garden Centre on your left.

·        Shortly after the PW Garden Centre, you will come to a roundabout – go straight on (F30 Torre Pacheco).

·        You will immediately see the building work for Phase 2 of the Mar Menor Golf Resort on the right and a red hotel with white dots on (Barcelo Torre Pacheco) on the left.

·        At the next roundabout, take the A30 turning, sign-posted for Murcia/Cartagena.

·        Continue on the A30 and at next roundabout take the second right turn. (Note – the first sign on approach to the roundabout says A30 Murcia/Cartagena but the sign at the turn-off just says El Jimenado – don’t panic, this is the right road!)

·        Follow the main A30 road through the village of El Jimenado.

·        Shortly after you leave the village, you will see a tractor garage on the left and a tall white building on the right with a red and blue stripe and a chicken on the top!

·        Shortly after the chicken factory, you will reach a major roundabout.

·        Take the second exit, signposted RM2/A7 Alhama de Murcia and Andalucia.

·        Travel on the RM2 for approximately 30 km.

·        Look out for sign for RM23 Mazarron/MU603 El Palmar – take this exit.

·        Go right round the roundabout to the last exit (3rd exit) which is signposted RM23 Mazarron.

·        Take second exit off RM23 (exit number 7) signposted for Condado de Alhama.

·        Go right round the motorway junction roundabout and take fourth exit up the palm tree lined boulevard into Condado de Alhama. Take 1st right turning at 1st Condado roundabout and follow road to security entrances on left. Turn right once through security and follow road to Jardines

A wee note of caution as I think the 627 a/b exits have changed their numbers.  I noted this last year but forgot to get the new junction numbers so maybe a local can provide them for us???  Thanks.

David

We're coming out on Monday and always seem to get lost as none of our satnavs seem to have the new roads on!

Does anyone know if a reliable and up to date sat nav system that we could buy and bring out this time?

Much appreciated!

Our Tom Tom Go gets us right to / from our door with no issues. We use it for airports, shopping, beaches and been to Madrid, Granada and Valencia. It now even recognises roads within Condado.

Our friends use a Garman also with no issues.

I think if you keep maps up to date you should be fine.

Liz
