Hi, I have Big Gs in Al Kasar and would have no problem whatsoever with a Chinese or indian opening up here as my family and i would love to have both available on site, however it has nothing to do with what i or any of the other businesses want. No one has ever asked our opinion before anything else has opened. It is entirely the responsibility of the company who let out the units. As far as I'm concerned the more the units are filled up , even though it might be some competition for us, the more choice it gives everyone on condado and that will only be a good thing for everyone.

Great to hear this from the horse's mouth so to speak. Hope the other owners would be of a similar mind to you. So, fingers crossed we may get a Chinese/indian yet!
Btw, your restaurant is our favourite on the resort! Keep up the good work.

Just back from a week at our apartment. Ate at:
Lacata twice which was excellent both times and I would have to say really impressed with the paella. Wine menu also really well priced and overall food and service was spot on.
Big Gs twice which again was really good; the rack of ribs was mealt in the mouth and the burgers better than I remembered last time we went.
Sofia which was okay but the least favourite of our meals; mushroom stater was undercooked but to be fair fixed once I complained. Mixed kebab was tasty.
All in all the restaurants on site are really impressing us with Lacata our favourite and great value for money.

HI bigfootiefan
Unfortunately not all businesses are as broad minded as Big G's because we wanted to open up a cafe and some other things but two of the long standing businesses approached the bank and put a stop to it because they are worried about the competition, saying if we were allowed to go ahead they would pull out as they paid more rent than us the bank sided with them !
We felt the same as the owner of Big G's in that competition is good and the residents deserve to have a choice and progress Al Kasars, but this cannot happen with the current people making the decisions

It would be a great pity & foolish business sense if it is true that some would oppose the opening of either a Chinese or an Indian restaurant. Having either on site means that people are eating on site. If we fancy an Indian or a Chinese we go to Campasol so the businesses are not getting our trade that evening anyway. The great thing about onsite restaurants is that you can have a drink & not need to drive back. We frequent the Condado Club, The Bulgarian & Big G`s but will still go off site for the type of food that is not available on Condado & I am sure many others do the same.
I think the Clover would not lose out as most people enjoy a drink before going for a meal

Hamibabe, that was our arguement all along to try and keep people on Condado by offering them the choices they need but other businesses had a different idea in that so long as we are OK it doesnt matter which is a real shame as the resort will never progress with this mentality. The more thats on the resort the more people will come and use the facilities but like you say they go off the resort as this choice isnt there for them, which is what we do

We had the very same problem when we were out in April with the curry. Last year they where great but now very dry and pretty average.
There is so much trade to be had by the restuarants but I fear regular visitors will gradually go off site as the standard is so inconsistent. I think one of the problems is the restaurants are trying to offer too many options and it's just not possible to cook and keep everything fresh every day. I wish the menus were smaller but the quality higher and I'm sure people would visit them more often.
