Medieval market

Real disappointment this year compared to last, not even half the size or standard of previous years. Was much better when in al kasar!

I can only agree. Was here for medieval 2 years ago and I loved it. Was looking forward to this years and all I can say is I was so disappointed. Stalls on car park weren't half what I expected. Thought will be better inside al kasar but got a shock when I saw there was nothing except the stage. Friday night one bouncy castle for kids which disappeared Saturday night completly. Same drag show like previous year, no medieval festival atmosphere, no decoration. My daughter and our friends kids took part in fancy dress competition which was a disgrace as same crowd wins as previous years. From all the fab dressed up kids and only 2 adult groups, 2 of the 3 prices go to the two adult groups. A bag of sweets for the kids. Wouw. If I see that priest wedding crowd one more year as winner up on stage I loose faith in the hole organisation. the ham and wine spot price was a joke. I get more brilliant spot prices for a charity daffodil coffee morning than what they had. And we get them for free for the charity. Seriously a ham and a bottle of wine???? Same music groups like two years ago and proberbly same as last year. And not even a firework at the end. 

What happend to fiesta with paella?? Not only cut they down massively on medieval festival but also cancel other festival completly. Not impressed at all!!!!!!

I'm sure someone has put a lot of effort in to arrange this and previous events but if any future ones are of a similar standard I would suggest they are just cancelled and simply stick to the usual Saturday market! That said i see no reason for these markets not to be located on the car-parking spaces on the outside  of security gate either to reduce mess, inconvience, security and state of toilets outside supermarket 

In previous years the Fiesta was funded by various sponsors, but due to circumstances and contracts cut to the bone, this year it was funded by Commumity Money which was agreed at the AGM's therefor not so much money was available, hence no Fiesta in July. I agree with previous comments regards all the mess etc, and would rather see our Community funds spent on better things, that benifit ALL owners not just those who are here in August. It seems such a big build up for something of nothing. 

The hassle, noise and mess of the Fiesta actually drives some away from the resort.

Agree that having Medieval market in car park lost the atmosphere, and there was no buzz this year.

It was our first visit at the time of the medieval market and having nothing else to bench mark it against it was an enjoyable experience. Maybe it wasn't as good as previous ones but surely it is better to support it and try to improve on it rather than to call for it to be cancelled entirely? Being so far away from anything without having to drive having things come to us is a good thing.

My family and I along with many other people I have spoken to hung around Al Kasar until midnight expecting the fireworks that have ended the fiesta in previous years and were sadly disappointed when nothing happened, With the lack of atmosphere compared to previous years I hope that some stalls are moved back into Al Kasar if it is held again.

If no one wants to sponsor the event & the whole community struggle to agree to spend extra money on maintenance then why would they agree to effectively 'burn the funds' with fireworks? At the end of the day the resort is about 7 years old now & issues are now coming to the surface so perhaps the community owners should start thinking about protecting their investments? Any property owner must realise things need maintaining & the fees only go so far. There are ways that we could considerably reduce the costs but if people will not agree to 'speculating to accumulate' then what should we expect? Costs rise, year on year, so perhaps the fees should be linked to Spanish equivalent of UKs RPI?

Perhaps if IRM paid the 165 k they owe the community....there would be funds!!
