Can anybody help?
We have an offensive smell that we think is sewer gas, in a 2 bedroom apartment at Condado. We believed this to be coming through the cavity wall and electricity sockets from an empty apartment next door. We have contacted the Milleniun office on a regular basis over the past 3 years but allthough they send their Inspector to check out the drains, no remedial action is offered or suggested. The apartment next door is now occupied and water is being run through the drains regularly. However, there is little or no improvement to the smell from either apartment. Recent complaints to Mileniun have resulted in further checks of both apartments by their Inspector who has declared all accessible drains in the apartment to be O.K. – but still no solution to the smell. As things are at the moment we feel that it would be impossible to use our apartment during the colder weather when doors and windows have to be closed.
Any ideas appreciated.

We also had an offensive smell when we purchased our apartment last year - we sorted it by flushing extra water through the plughole of the bath after every use as we think it was the buildup of showergel and shampoo's sitting in the system and also the bidet every day too whether it was used or not. That works for us - the smell comes back every now and again but keep flushing clean water through and it should dispers.
We also bought some Aguafuerte bleach from the supermarket too.
Hope that helps x

Hi, don't know if your in penthouse, naranjos or jardines, but this is based on penthouse experience. Smell never was extreme but always around kitchen area and cupboard under sink. Traced it to the waste water from kitchen sink. In the waste water pipework they had left 2 connections for the waste water from a dishwasher/washing machine. Being below the trap there was nothing to stop these venting in to the cupboard/apartment as neither were being used.
Solution, if not in use, unscew them and stuff with kitchen roll and gaffer tape the open end, screw back on, and hey presto problem solved. If in use and are the problem then you may need to rearrange waste pipework to ensure trap/u-bend is below these outlets.
Best of luck.

Hi
We had the same problem and tried everything without success but it was eventually sorted by Salva who works on Condado. He worked for Polaris and now is self employed and very reasonable. He knows the apartments inside out as he helped build them. He solved ours by fitting u-bend in the kitchen sink and washing machine and sealing the electrical sockets as they are open to the cavities. Been fine ever since.
Salva's number is 0034 626 415 345, I am sure he would solve it for you.
Good luck!

Hi Ken,
Thank you so much for Salvo's number, it looks as if this guy may well be the answer my difficulties. I shall be in touch with him on my next visit to Condado as I am sure that the problem with my apartment is something more than the usual run of the mill stuff. Obviously, having helped to build these properties he just has to be the guy for the job. I just regret that it has taken me three years to find him.
Thanks again.
Best regards,
Kev
