Interesting zooropey, I went through La Vida and found them very helpful. They sent lots of information to help be understand the total costs involved in purchasing and running the property and were very helpful all the way through. The representative at LTDLT, Joaquin, is excellent. Listens to what you want and shows you a number of properties and he got us spot on. We ended up buying the first property he showed us even though we viewed lots more. No pressure to buy and very relaxed viewing. We actually viewed on 4 seperate occasions and he couldn't have been more helpful. He is also very knowledgable about all that is happening at LTDLT and will fill you in on all the things that are going on and should be aware of.
La Vida did charge €3000 for the service but this is included in the prices displayed on their website. This is standard for spanish estate agents I thought? I also thought they were exclusive on the Bankia owned properties which are significantly cheaper than the other properties owned by Polaris or others. Is this not the case?
Like cyclinggrezzer, we also used Abad Abogados in Los Alcazares and have found them to be very good so far. We gave them power of attorney and they got our NIE numbers, opened our bank account at Deutsche Bank in Los Alcazares and are also sorting out the connection of the utilities etc. Cost was similar to what you would expect in the UK for a purchase but as above, they do a lot more than a UK solicitor.
The process was slower than I hoped but they chased Bankia and the land registry regularly for us.
