Partition screens

Hello,

looking for information on partition screens on walls.

We are thinking of getting a screen fitted next time we're over

What i need to know is, do you need to have permission to have these screens erected, I would like to find out now before paying upfront.

There is an aesthetics committee that is looking at all the alterations on the resort, some of which will be coming down in the future I feel with consent or if not court action!

Downstairs is not much of a problem if you have consulted with your neighbours.  Upstairs. Is a totally different story as it. Destroys the aesthetics of the. Skyline and in many cases your neighbours' view.  ML have a file of what is and is not allowed on resort and privacy screeningis not included!, Our neighbour erected 60cm high privacy screening upstairs.  We are waiting for the aesthetics committee to sort the removal...if this does not work our next step is a denuncia...needless to say this is not good for neighbourly relations!!

If ML have a file then surely everyone should have been given a list of doo's and don't when they first purchased on Condado. Otherwise these issues are obviously going to cause long term disputes with neighbours . The latest dilemma will probably be the erecting of large storage sheds on the upstairs apt.??? I've noticed quite a few of these popping up in my recent visits.

I know what you are saying...but it is up to the individual to familiarise themselves!! You wouldn't erect something in the Uk without knowing if legal/ allowed so why is your holiday home different?  In an ideal world we would all be supplied the community rules...but surely we all know there are community rules so why not check them ourselves????  For the majority privacy screening will block your neighbour's view or block their sunlight.... i've just sussed that if I hang a sail on top of my neighbour's illegal privacy screening...I can completely block out their sunlight for most of the day (we won't...but it's mighty tempting).  Check the community rules....speak to your neighbours before doing work.....it makes for good relations....there is nothing as horrid as neighbours who  don't speak....you never know when you will need them!,

Spain is so different from the UK..did you know the age of consent has only recently risen from 13-15???

The only reason I enquired about these screens was because the last time I visited the complex there were workmen who wakened me early in the morning with heavy duty drills and the like. These workmen were actually erecting a screen partition on a downstairs apartment and were also in the process of breaking down the rear wall to install a gate. And on another point, if these partitions are forbidden then why is it that there are more & more of these partitions being erected. I for one also agree with Momac there are more and more garden sheds being erected on upstairs apartments that will also block out views and sunlight.

PS. It should make no difference if the apartment is an upper apartment or lower apartment, at the end of the day a screen is a screen.

my neighbour erected them up and down, back and front..downstairs front is not much of a problem...it just blocks my view of her staircase.  Downstairs back prevents neighbourly contact...its horrid...

I then have it at my front door upstairs, the whole way up the stairs and then front to back on the solarium.....we used to hate it but as we no longer speak because of this its not so bad now....we bought upstairs for the view of sunset..this has been completely blocked and we have now moved downstairs again....

we have reported it to ML and the aesthetics committee are looking at it...I doubt anything will ever be done....our only choice is to take a denuncia...and we really cant be bothered....maybe one day...
