A Short Story - for free. It would be good if others could follow...

Hello everyone.

I'm writing to mention there are lots of free writing competitions available on the Internet with lots of prizes, for any budding writers out there. Any good search-engine should find them.

I have since removed the 'free' story as it's run its course.

And for any who don't consider themselves good enough to write, my advice is simple... write as you speak.

I once typed-up a story, initially written by a biker chum ... who was dyslecic. It was for a Vintage/Classic Motorcycle Club, for which I was Editor/Secretary & resident Engineering Consultant & Trouble-shooter.

The story involved a motorcycle trip around the entire Australian Continent. My computer's Spell-checker was having kittens while I was considering leaping out the window, such was his spelling and punctuation. The Times-Crossword would have been an easier task! Anyway, the story was really good and the chap enjoyed the journey, as did all who read it.

This was followed by a story of my own, published in a popular Motorcycle Magazine and read all over the world.

Go on, give it a go? Not to drive around Australia, silly, but to write a story ... about anything.

Thank you - an interesting story.  Do you know that most years there is a gathering of bikes/bikers at the coast?  I wish I could remember exactly where and when, but can't, I think it's somewhere like Lo Pagan, San Pedro or San Javier.  Look out for it in the local free papers (coast rider, round town news), and sign up to get the murcia news online at murciatoday.com
