Hi susankeeping,
We all signed up to the rules of the community when we bought apartments at Las Terrazas de la Torre. These rules are there to ensure the enjoyment of the community by all community members, not just those who want to party loudly in the pool areas and golf course bunkers after dark. Yes, there really were some people who had a barbecue in a golf course bunker last summer ....
Having said that, I have nothing against owners or their tenants having fun and note that the committee have in fact been relaxing rules in the pool areas in the summer months. For example, they have sanctioned the use of inflateable toys etc in the pool in peak season. There needs to be a balance between the party animals and the peace lovers and if the party animals can't stick to the rules then they need to be policed.
As Henry points out, this is not just about the nuisance behaviour of some, it is also a health and safety issue. I believe a drunken mother almost fell into the pool with a child in a pram last summer. I am sure we all don't want any children drowning at Las Terrazas.
By day it is also about ensuring people who use the pools are paying to maintain them. I am sure the vast majority of owners support this policy.
As an aside, the holidaymakers don't bring revenue to the majority of owners on the resort, only to those who rent out their apartments.
