Is there a best month to buy?

I think this may have been mentioned before but I can't be ars*d to look .

Does anyone know what shops are planned for the front of Galera and when they might be opening? Ta

Cant be of much help but was there at easter and there were signs that the shops were begining to progress a large banner outside one saying english shop opening here so imagine they are being sold/let at the moment.

At complex at mo,  PH4 is near complete, will add pics when back...

Looks like 3 shops opening,  no sign on 1st, 2nd in a rental, management company, 3rd English supermarket... nothing else happening..

Where are these shops in relation to the complex please?

As you come out on to the main road via the main entrance at the roundabout turn left and they are just there.

I've heard that the ugly sign at the entrance to the shops (see pic on Galera Park) doesn't have planning permission and the community of shop owners (whenever they arrive!) can ask for it to be removed...Anyone else know anything about it?

I'm out there this weekend and if I can drag myself out of the bars  I  will ask around for an update. It would be nice to get some confirmed dates of opening whenever they maybe.

Anyone else want to rationalise our local area message boards? At the moment I'm having to check message boards for Costa Galera, Costa Galera Country Club, Galera Park and Residencial Galera Park  for local info.   Just a thought.

It would be EOS team's call, really. But just a thought.
We're Galera Park so different developer issues but the same local area ones. Like trying to find out more about where the "biggest shopping centre in Spain"  mentioned in one Galera  message board is meant to be! Visible from the Country Club? If you hear anything ...

Probably gone the same way as the 5* hotel that was going to be built at the front. I'll keep an ear open this weekend but it's just a 'lads' break so might not get too much done

I waa talking to a 20 year resident in Puerto Banus and mentioned i had apt in Estepona, he said there was a huge shopping complex being built out our way,  the only site i have seen is directly behind the Country Club and over the hills to base of mountain,  in place so far are massive parking spaces and lights,  if you look to left side of Country Club you will see what looks like roads being built,  i pretty sure they will go to this site...

If you want to have a drive,  head for Caseras at ESSO garage round about,  drive past  GOLF and keep going until you come to a Bar/Restuarant on left,  you will see a sign for Estepona turn right at sign and follow road and you wiull soon come to this site...

I have searched web for it but can't find anything

That could be it. It sounds a bit alarming if it's going to ruin the rolling hills view. I too was told of the "biggest shopping centre in Andalucia" coming to Estepona but the only trace of it I can find on the web was a mention in an advert for someone's villa sale (as in "evidence of a rapidly developing area", which also mentioned enlargement of Estepona port...) I wonder if anyone has recent news of our little parade of shops. It would be so handy to be able to get bread, milk and maybe a roast chicken without a car ride.

If the site i have seen is for shopping centre we will NOT loose rolling hills as it's over the other side, all we will see is the road to left of Kids play area...

nicky just back from costa there is a property management company about to open work almost complete looked like english supermarket might be opening soon complex was begining to get busier but still very quite it would appear that at the moment july and august are the only times there will be any real activity. complex is lovely nice chiringito in the middle but closes at 8 30 so if you intend going out and using a taxi it can be quite expensive 30 euro round trip

Thanks Wilko, I'm down there for a few weeks in August so will see the progress for myself. Hope the supermarket opens soon as it always helps to have one within walking distance, just in case the beer gets low.

Hi all, things seem to be taking shape out here at the moment. Complex looking well.

Anyone heard anything more about the development to the rear? Is it the rumoured shopping complex or is it more houses etc God forbid!!

We have searched all over web for info on area but found nothing about what is going on behind Country Club to the left and over hills.  There is new complex being built across  from petrol station between our roundabout and the next one at Esso garage,  it seems there are building a road from that complex that will run past  the childrens play area up from us.

If you followed this you would arrive at a huge site at base on mountain, there is a a new power station being built and you will see a new roundbaout, on each side of it are new roads and 100's of street lights,  this looks like it could be a site for a new shopping complex ( i was told by an English guy, 20 yrs living in Puerto Banus that one was being built in Estepona ). 

If you want to drive up there,  head for Esso Garage, turn right at it's roundabout, head for Caseras and drive past NEW apts and Golf range, head up winding road until you come to a white restaurant on left hand side, just after it tuen RIGHT at sign saying Estepona,  follow this road and soon you will come upon power station and new roundabout, look right and you will see road that will lead towards our Complex, well i think it will :-)

Just for Info the huge building half built just after Estepona Marina before the beach is deemed as an illegal build,  builders and council are fighting it out at court, if the builders take of a few levels they will be allowed to finish it,  lets hopwe so it's such an eyesore.

Enjoy the sun, can't wait for next visit in Aug/Sept...
