Once again, Hi Molly
I've just had another look at your message dated 16th May re "where owners stand regards renting". This is of particular interest to us as we have always looked towards rentals as a major part of our future plans. We intend not only to be able to rent our own property on a regular basis, but we will also be turning to others in the development who hope to rent as this fits in with our plans in the area.
We are trying to find out what the arrangements will be once the complex is up and running. We need to know who will be handling the running of the complex, prices charged for rerntals, and what percentage we will have to pay for this service (and indeed the services offered for the percentage paid!). Until now we have only heard speculation and rumour. Some information from our lawyer seems quite promising, although bitter experience over the last three years has shown us that we must trust no one until the euros fall through our letterbox! Just for your information I include part of an e mail which he sent to us recently. It says:
"I have been checking the private contract and you have bought in an apartment- hotel promotion. That means that you have to permit the rent of the apartment to other people during a month per year (or more time, if you want it). You will be paid a rent for this time by the company who will manage the aparthotel. The commission for it will be a 5 % of the rent, leaving for you the remaining 95 % of the money.
The rest of the year will be available for you."
This is good news if it proves to be true. BUT, as they say "the proof of the pudding is in the eating". Just like everyone else, we are still waiting to be offered the pudding, never mind getting to taste it!
We are interested to hear from anyone who is looking towards rentals, any advice, opinions or information would be appreciated.
We look forward to any comments on this.
