Hi Molly I'm replying on this thread as it is the most recent so I hope more people may read this. I have held back for a few days as my comments about completion dates in September seemed to cause a little concern so I wanted to double check my facts. The comments by Spanish buyer seemed to show an understanding of the situation, thanks once again for those. I have been able to speak with our mortgage people again and asked them to double check the information they had sent. Once again, I have pasted directly from their e mail which says "I spoke to the Developers again and they are the only ones that can update any clients regarding signing. The person I spoke to advised that signing may possibly be September/October.She said the ´fin de obras´ certificate was not ready, this is the certificate issued by the town hall to say the building work has finished. The developers will then apply for the ´first occupancy/habitation licence´. This can take up to 3-6 months to come back from the town hall, and this is the licence that confirms the property has been checked and can be moved into. Signing is arranged once this licence has been issued. Another thing to bear in mind is the fact that August practically shuts down over here!! I will phone the Developers again in one month for an update". Our mortgage people point out that they are talking DIRECTLY to the developers, with no third party advice or opinions added. If anyone wants me to, I will try to supply the name of the person to speak to and the telephone number to contact them at the developers. We are still being asked by the developers to confirm our continued interest in the property. Currently we see no problem in doing this, and should be doing so soon. Hope this information helps, I look forward to any comments.

Once again, Hi Molly I've just had another look at your message dated 16th May re "where owners stand regards renting". This is of particular interest to us as we have always looked towards rentals as a major part of our future plans. We intend not only to be able to rent our own property on a regular basis, but we will also be turning to others in the development who hope to rent as this fits in with our plans in the area. We are trying to find out what the arrangements will be once the complex is up and running. We need to know who will be handling the running of the complex, prices charged for rerntals, and what percentage we will have to pay for this service (and indeed the services offered for the percentage paid!). Until now we have only heard speculation and rumour. Some information from our lawyer seems quite promising, although bitter experience over the last three years has shown us that we must trust no one until the euros fall through our letterbox! Just for your information I include part of an e mail which he sent to us recently. It says: "I have been checking the private contract and you have bought in an apartment- hotel promotion. That means that you have to permit the rent of the apartment to other people during a month per year (or more time, if you want it). You will be paid a rent for this time by the company who will manage the aparthotel. The commission for it will be a 5 % of the rent, leaving for you the remaining 95 % of the money. The rest of the year will be available for you." This is good news if it proves to be true. BUT, as they say "the proof of the pudding is in the eating". Just like everyone else, we are still waiting to be offered the pudding, never mind getting to taste it! We are interested to hear from anyone who is looking towards rentals, any advice, opinions or information would be appreciated. We look forward to any comments on this.

Hello Irish buyer, I WANT TO RENT MY APARTMENT.

I spoke to the "developer"and they say that they are looking for a company to manage it.

I would be good to know WHO else wants to rent the apartment.

Thanks to all.
