Hi All
We were out last week and the pool area is the main bit left currently being worked on. All the surrounding walls have been built and the pool dug out, so I would think that by July/August it should be finished.

Another pic of pool taken Friday 15th June.
Reinforcing has now been put in ready for next concrete pour. Still giving end of July completion and then the time it takes for Public Liability Insurance to be put in place.

Hi All !
We are no.55 phase 2.
It's good to see the development is nearly finished! We took ownership of our apartment last week and Alec has been over for a couple of days for furniture delivery etc. Everything has gone remarkably well so far!!
We are due out on 2nd July with our 3 kids for a fortnights holiday, the only problem being that the swimming pool is unlikely to be completed by then! Does anyone know of a public outdoor pool nearby? I had heard there might be one near Bigastro and also Los Montesinos...anyone know any more?
Looking forward to meeting you all!

Hello
There is a pool up the mountain about about 6 or 7 mins drive from the village which is very nice with a restaraunt or you can do your own BBQ up theren it was 3 euro per adult and 2 for a child all day when we were there last week, also public pools (1 indoor 1 outdoor) in Orihuela next to burger king and the shopping centre only a few mins drive from Hurchillo.
Hope this helps

Head into Bigastro and follow signs to La Pedrera. When climbing the hill follow signs to Villas Andrea and it is at the top of the hill on the left. Fantastic views and plenty to do. Huge outdoor pool in san Miguel as well. There are plenty of choices within 10 mins drive.

Hi all
Apparently the pool is tiled, but having forgot to put the proper access into the pool they have built steps into it.
Good news as far as i am concerned...stops me having an heart attack when I drop into cold water.
We move over permenantly 21 Aug.....ish.....
Hopefully the fotos Mervyn puts on will give us all the answers.
Regards to all

as far as i can see all it needs is a good tidy up and fresh water put in and it should be ready for use this weekend i hope but then thats only my opinion and the builders could think differently.

Won't the insurance and signs have to be in place before the pool will be able to be used, just thinking about what was said at phase 2's AGM, public liability and employing someone to keep the pool clean and keys/touch pad for the gate!

Hi there, not sure about the builders being on holiday, If I remember correctly some did work last year, not to say they will this year. I think we will need health and safety signs erecting, the administrator was suggesting no one under 12 years of age allowed in without an adult, no drinking glasses, opening times, taking into consideration the siesta times, it was suggested we need to take into account the spanish way of life, etc etc etc, also there is the issue of security, who will be employed for that post, I am sure there will be lots more things that the Spanish Goverment will want in place before it can open, but I could be wrong, here is hoping that I am, it is Spain after all!
Regards Stan and Diane
looking forward to happy splashing

Hi all, just got back yesterday to 15 degrees' in Newcastle from 30s and 40s in Hurchillo. Absolutely red hot all day and hotter to come in August, so I've heard. Pool looking very nice and bigger than what I expected. The area around the pool is quite large and is completed with a green concreted print finish. As said previously, it has 3 tall lamps' and 2 showers'. The interior walls' have to be finished off but doesn't take that long. The men were clearing all of their gear and materials' from the street yesterday and were washing the pool area down. The pool itself has to be drained and cleaned and the chemicals' added. Spanish safety rules and residents' rules' will have to provided as well as insurance for the pool. Sorry to disappoint anyone and I hope I'm wrong but I've been told by 2 people that it could take 6 weeks' for the pool to open officially. The kids' were actually in the pool till after midnight on Wednesday night but the entrance was made more secure the next night for safety reasons'. I think the builders' will work to finish the job as it's so near to completion. Adios, Michael.
