Is there to be another development to the left of the main gate? The beautiful hill has been desecrated by bulldozers. We were told in 2004 that no more developments would be allowed after Princess Park, as the area is a Nature Park.

I was also told that there would be no more development around PP. I fear the power of the brown envelope is as strong as ever in Spain.

For those who haven't seen it, pse contact me via private e-mail and I will send photos.

In response, when I was out in PP end May, they were putting a road in up to the top of the hill. I was told that there was some building being planned over the top of the hill and they needed a new access road, but there would be no buildings this side of the hill. Well given everything that has gone on at PP I'll believe it when I see it.

We've suffered, poor design, year delays, bad workmanship, useless snaggers, shoulder shruggers, more damage caused by the remedial work, a second class portal and useless developers and agents, the fitted kitchen only being half of that shown on the drawings, we completed 10 weeks ago and the lifts are still not connected........................................

So what makes us think we can change anything!!!  As they say 'Buyer Beware'

Unfortunately your right, a new development of 4 buildings is being built next to princess park. The worse news is the developer is Aifos!

If you look on www.aifos.es province malaga, town mijas then click on Calahonda Hills you can see the plans.

Aifos are notorious for poor workmanship, no licenses and long delays but worst of all they very often take deposits and payments prior to completion then when completion is due and the price of the property has increased they blame the purchaser for breaching the contract and sell the property on to someone else. This information is freely available on the internat just by searching Aifos so if you know anyone buying through them tell them to beware.

The good news is that to the other side of PP is a natural valley and that is protected land and the spanish government have just changed the legislation to say they cannot be built on and any future development must not be built closer than 150m either side. The top of the hill behind PP is owned by the Prince of Saudi Arabia who lives in the big house on the top of the hill behind so unless he sells there shouldn't be any development there either.

Hope that helps anyone

Well, at least that's good news about the valley on the other side of PP. From a selfish point of view it's VERY good news, as my apartment looks out across that valley. Let's hope the rules hold and we don't get some Spanish cowboy moving the bulldozers in without permission.

Tell me, is anyone else out there in Block 5? I'm climbing the walls - we completed in March, it was July before we got the proper water supply laid on and we are STILL trying to get suppliers' electricity connected. We're on builders' supply, and until the proper supply is connected we can't get the A/C primed and working - they say that because builders' supply is not reliable it could damage the A/C. What all that means is that we are unable to let the flat, a major financial burden for us. Our property management agency is graet and they are doing what they can, but it's enough to turn you against the whole Spanish way of life.

Is anyone else in the same position? Does anyone else have tales to tell about connection of utilities?

Hi, we completed in block 7 end of march 07. We had our water connected quite quickly, we have been chasing and chasing to get the electricity supply connected. Desiree ruiz at P60 is responsible for this, also you should be liaising with whoever has been appointed as your block/phase president, as they should be able to apply pressure locally.

Desiree can be contacted on desiree.ruiz@p60.es

We are hoping for block 7 to be connected to electricity supply imminently, however what that actually means in spanish is anybodys guess

Hi all,

We have purchased in Block 7, and were quite excited when we heard the lifts being connected and tested on the 20th September 07.  The excitement was short lived (I wasn't too suprised!).  The lifts still have not been switched on.  This delay in costing us a lot of money through rental income, and we have had to turn down a long term winter let as we have no guarentee when the lifts will be working.

Hi

We were out at our apartment in block 7 last week and had our aged inlaws with us. We had hoped that the lifts would be working I have been chasing everybody up over the last 4 weeks. Unsuprisingly there were lights on the lifts but they were not operational so the inlaws had to climb 64 steps everyday. I went down to P60 accounts and they were completely useless. They are meant to be managing the site but dont have any handle on the lifts. They didnt even seem to know that the electricity company had been out to look at them.

We completed in March and its now 6 months if they are not sorted in the next 2 weeks I am going to stop paying my community fees

We went down at the end of October for the express purpose of trying to get this farce with the electricity sorted out. We consulted a lawyer and he contacted the developers. Within four days we received the following:

" Please be advised that yesterday the developer confirmed the reasons of why the electricity can’t be connected yet.

As I explained to you last Friday, the constructor had to repair a few power towers in that area to get the final inspection from Sevillana, the electricity company. It seems that now everything has been repaired and they are waiting for Sevillana to go and do the last inspection. As soon as they go, we will then be able to connect the electricity."

I won't start counting my chickens but hopefully we can look forward to developments soon.
