Hi,
We completed last week on our Phase 9 apartment and have received conflicting timings for how long it will take for the water, electric & gas to be switched on; Polaris say 4-5 weeks; our agent says it is currently more like 10 weeks.
Anyone any recent experience ?
Thanks, Phillian

We signed up for our villa (Phase 5) in February and are still waiting for gas and electricity! We have sent numerous emails but it has still not been sorted. It is putting a dampener on everything - so much for our dream holiday in the sun. Hurry up Polarisworld/Utility Companies and get your act together!

Re Gas & Electric. You need to chase, chase chase with utility connections, forget Polaris, contact Repsol & Iberdrola directly and set up your own account. It can be done in 10 days.

Iberdrola's number is 0034 901 202020 Repsol is 0034 901 170170
I don't want to sound negative but whatever you have a problem with always follow it up...continually. There are people with out gas for 4 & 5 months. Don't wait for the solution to come to you. In Spain it won't. We've just spent a week trying to sort a dodgy boiler. 6 visits from the ROCA man, numerous visits to the call centre and it was finally sorted at 17.00 on Friday when 3 guys turned up. It's not just the Spanish, its English workers out there as well. As I say, don't want to sound negative but its what you need to do. The apartments great , resort looking better and better, course looks good, thanks to ROCA didn't get to play it

Hi been watching the forum and having recently completed I am having the same trouble with gas and electric connection. The numbers were a great help to contact the services directly, but we were told we would need the contract number held by polaris to proceed. When asked for these i have had no response from polaris. Was wondering does anyone else have the same problem and is there a way around it
Thanks Steve

Phase 6 Townhouse : We did our first snagging visit & signed up for services ( via PW ) on 24/5/07 . Snagging completed 11th June , Water & Electric installed 2nd July , but no gas yet . I'm out there next week to check out the snagging & perhaps a cold shower in the dark (...not sure that sounds right !!) .

My best advice is nag, nag, nag.
Ring Repsol daily if you can.
I'm sure we didn't need a contract number. We did it from here with just the plot number
If you speak to the call centre ask to go on the priority list, but I'm sure everyone's on it.

Hi folks,
We are waiting for our services to be connected on La Torre. We got an email from Iberdrola, but it is in Spanish and we dont understand it. Did anyone get a similar email from Iberdrola, and does this mean that the electric is on or do we have to phone them?

Hi
We were out there last week to complete snagging - which we managed to do within an inch of returning home ! - Were promised gas meter would be installed this week - sounds like this could be a fairy story - was told if we contacted polaris 1 week before we are out there again - which should be end of August - they would arrange for air conditioning and gas boiler to be commissioned - am I living on cloud cuckoo land in believing this
Is anyone else having problems with sorting electric blinds ? - We have been told electrician has done a bunk and don't know when they will get some one to replace him - We have a patio blind totally inoperable and furniture etc being delivered 20 August can anybody suggest a private electrician who may be able to sort this for us.
Would highly recommend IR espana for furniture package - ask for Carol very helpful

Best bet is to contract Repsol directly, they will install the Gas meter in 10 working days.
Once the meter is in you can go to the call centre and they will arrange for the Roca (Boiler) man to come and commission the boiler. We got an appointment within 36 hours, but if you know that the meter is installed you can arrange this before you go. Air con, if Polaris have installed you will need to collect the remote control and if it works, its commissioned, well, no-one came to look at ours
Patio blinds, should n't this be a Polaris problem to sort?
