Has anyone yet completed a tax return or received a valuation notice for IBI and does anyone know where to obtain and file the necessary form.

Michael, I haven't as yet but have a quide to completing the documentation which I will send to you as soon as my email is working. The town hall has the cadastral value which is needed.

I know I need form 714, but do you know where the local office is that issues it. Have you obtained a cadstral value and if so was it easy to obtain from the town hall (and just where is our local town hall.

Form Modelo 714 is Patrimonio only

Form Modelo 214 is Patrimonio and Renta, income and wealth tax on one form.

Be careful is you use the purchase price you will most likely pay too much tax as the cadastral value is lower its based on sie of aprtment or house and the area its in.

You need the IBI for the other calculation and you need NIE stickers to go on the form. You will not get the IBI for a year or more so in my first 2 years I only paid one tax, this seems to be the norm.

I have had my administrator do my tax and they charge about 80€ and get the forms and stickers, this year I will do my own but I will have to go to the local Hacienda to apply fo stickers, I think the nearest is Estepona or Marbella.
