I am buying on Hacienda Riquelme and am coming out to Spain 13th December for 4 days to see how things are going.
I'm looking to rent an appartment for three nights (13th/14th/15th Dec) and get some Golf in as well. I'm looking for a one/two bed something on any PW resort to put up two people. Please email me details at jeff.c@time-tele.com.  thank you.

I admire your optomism - We're buying in phase 1 which due for completion June 2006 with no sign of completiom imminent & if it is finished for Dec I would put money on that the Golf Course will not be playable by then.

We too are buying on Phase One in HR and have seen friends who bought a later stage on La Torre to complete after our prospective completion date and they have completed.   They are now only waiting for the final utilities be supplied.   We were hoping for at least TWO holidays in our apartment this year and it looks like we won't even get ONE.    Surely, we can all sign a petition and get some sort of compensation on the interest we are losing.   After all Polaris must be earning interest on it!!!

I think we are stuck with. We even tried to withdraw from the purchase but on reading the small print & advice from our lawyer you only have 90 days from the agreed date of completion (June 06) to claim your deposit back. We could withdraw from the sale but would loose the 40%.

So I'm afraid we are going to have to wait - but it's very poor to say the least.

It would be an awful lot to lose.   On the plus side, my husband and I went out in January and stayed in a comparable apartment on La Torre and was pleasantly surprised at the size and the close proximity to the golf course.   We went out at that time as we thought we were very close to completion and would be able to sign while we were out there.   We told them our apartment number on Riquelme and they put us in one that would have a similar aspect to ours.  (Bit pricey though for that time of year and still with work going on).   We were told completion should be about May (maybe they meant 2008 !!! )  I put two lots of photos on this site as January 29th if you haven't yet seen them, but the weather was awful.

Hi Guys

Just a quick note to say that we visited the site office at HR last Thursday (5th July) and spoke to the usual guy there who said that Phase 1 and 2 should be finished "at the end of the summer". When we pushed him he said September/October. I thought it was Phase 2 that they'd only just started building....?!

Unfortunately we were in a big rush and didn't have the chance to go to Customer Services or to take any pics but, having been there in May, I can't see that an awful lot of progress has been made. There are people on site and there were surveyors fiddling about in bunkers playing with theodolites and raking the sand, but there are still an enormous number of large cranes on site and not a lot of grass has taken on the course itself. It's been such a funny year weather-wise, torrential rain in April and now a heat-wave. It hit 40 deg C last Thursday. I think those of us who are on Phase 1 will be lucky if we do get to complete in 3-4 months - I think it'll be nearer Christmas. I don't think they're going to release anything till the golf course at least looks ready - but that's just my opinion. I'm hanging in there because I don't have much choice, but it's still all a pipe dream after nearly 3 years...

Hi there

Received a telephone call on Friday to say we should get the keys on 23rd October and sign the contract on 24th October (subject to there being no faults on the snagging list).   We haven't been told this is provisional, but other people on this site have been told not to book flights yet, so I will try to contact them tomorrow for verification.  We are looking forward to this coming to fruition so we can spend time in it before we start renting it out.
