Hi All - my husband and I have recently returned from a short break in Spain and thanks to Sandra's post on 27 May, we knew that we had a chance of actually getting into our apartments which we've been waiting four years to be finished!

As previously said, Lourdes was very helpful and told us to return on Friday which is viewing day with slots at 12 noon, 12.30 and 1pm. 

So, hard hats on and security guard in tow off we trotted.  Should have worn trainers instead of stupidly turning up in my 'flip flops' - doh!  We have purchased two partments in Block 2 - one was completely finished with all applicances in and one still had a few odds and sods still to be completed which did include kitchen applicances/cupboards. We were pleased with what we saw and the development certainly looks like it will very nice when it's finished.  However, although they are starting to mark out the roads etc it still very much looks like a building site and it is hard to see how it will be possible for everything to be finished by Sept/October this year.

Lourdes' english is good but not enough for any challenging debates on timescales etc.  I did question her on the said completion in Sept/October but she was adament that the construction work would be finished then.  Obviously, they then have to apply for the habitation licence so who knows when we would actually be able to get in.

It seems they are happy for anybody to view as long as it's on a Friday at those set times.

As it happens, I have received an email from our spanish lawyers today advising us on the mortgages available from Banco Pastor so it certainly looks like they intend to finish when they say - however, we should not be handing over any money until everything is finished and they have the habitation licence so be careful!

For us, as with so many of you i am sure, this has been a very frustrating experience but i have to say, there certainly does now look like some light at the end of the tunnel.

Does anyone out there know the answers to the following questions about condesa apartments:

1. Have all buyers got a parking space PLUS a storage area ??

2. Will there be air conditioning in all the rooms, i.e. bedrooms and living room, kitchen and bathrooms ??

3. Will there be external blinds on all the windows ??

4. Will the ensuite and second bathrooms have a bath and a shower ??

5. Will the ensuite and second bathrooms have bidets too ??

6. Do the kitchens/ utility rooms have washing machine, dishwasher, electric hobs, oven, fridge, freezer and microwave ?

7. Will there be tv / cable aerials on the building roof for each block ?? or is there some communal system available ??

Hi Captain - I think I can answer some of your queries:

1. Funny you should ask this one - we need to check our contract as we were under the impression you get parking and storage with each apartment but Lourdes implied there would be an additional cost for storage so i think everyone will need to check their individual contracts.

2. Definately living room and bedrooms - can't guarantee bathrroms and kitchens as can't remember.  Must be some type of extract one would have thought.

3. No idea.

4. Ensuite has hydro bath with shower attachment.  Second bathroom has shower unit no bath.

5. Ensuite had a bidet but not second bathroom.

6. Yes to all EXCEPT no dishwaster or mirowave.  We had the idea that we would move the washing machine out to utility area and put dishwasher in place.

7. There were ariel point in living room but no idea where this is connected to.

Ruth - many thanks for your reply. So glad there is a bath in the ensuite. Do you know how much a storage room costs. My agent had sold it to me with garage and storage. But my contract has conveniently omitted the storage. So would love to know how much it would cost to get a storage room.

Before we signed the private conract we too were told every apartment would have a storage room, but like you it does not appear in the contract.  When we mentioned this to our friend Stephanie at Majestic about 2 years ago she said the layout of the garages had been changed and only a few apartments would have storage rooms, which they would have to pay extra for.  We asked about buying one and were told they had all been allocated.  Who to we couldn't find out.

Regarding external blinds - there will be one on the second bedroom but it is not a security blind, and possibly one on the first bedroom too, but that is all.

Hi folks i dont know how people feel about storage areas but why would anybody in there right mind want to purchase a apartment without them.We like many others were not expecting to pay for something as classed asa normal requirment do these people think were nuts. as far as im concerned i want storage as part and parcel . they are still advertising in there brochure storage areas in garages and apartments i for one will not sign for anything,
