Hello , we have just received confirmation that our apartment on Phase 3 , should be ready for completion at the end of December, earlier than expected , this has now kicked us in gear to organise our furniture and choose a supplier.
We noticed this company being advertised on EOS called Furniture express, have spoken to a lady called Liz who has been very helpful with our enquiries so far.
We would really appreciate any information from Roda buyers in Phase 1 or 2 that actually used this company, what was the service like ? and how was the quality of the furniture?.
Thanks
Gary and Sue

Folks,
I know the whole furniture discussion has been thrashed out quite a bit. And thanks to a number of you who gave me info on companies like murciafurniture.com
However I cant find a thread where someone actually bought the Roda package and provided feedback. There has been general comments that its expensive but you have to buy it if you want to use Roda rentals. I spoke to 1 person privately who had bought the roda furniture in phase 1 and had a mixed experience.
So question to phase 2 buyers, did anyone use Roda and where they happy. I realise not everyone knows about this forum, but Im going to assume if there is no response that most people are making alternative arrangements.

Hi Ray,
My next door neighbour has bought the Roda package. Its very average and well overpriced.
To be honest unless you feel it nessarsary to use Roda rentals the best bet is to DIY.
You can buy all your basics from Ikea, electrical/white goods from 1 of many shops i.e Media Mart.
Beds/ sofas etc can be bought from any number of local suppliers in and around Los Alcazares.
You should be able to completey kit out your apartment if 2 bed for less than 12000 euros.
If you need any further help pm me.

hi ray.
we bought the roda package for our 2 brd penthouse on phase 2.
we are happy with it and although a bit pricey it saves on the logistics of doing it yourself.
they do fit everything for you and always gives you the option in future of letting through roda.
also itd designed to be neutral so if letting then most people would find it attractive.
you can see pics on www.roda.250x.com

We purchased the roda pack for our 3 bed penthouse it may have cost a little more but saved loads of time. They also fit the lot so if you have any problems with damage ect they will sort it out. It made life very easy on white goods as they removed and rebuilt cupboards to fit in diswashers and the like. The quality is good and we have added a few extras as well to make the place feel more like our own.
Carmen also sorted out for our roof terrace to be reinforced and a Jacuzzi to be put on it This should of happened last week weather permiting. Not sure if it would of been possible to go outside Roda for this

Hi
My supplier did the lot for us as well - as you say, a one stop shop saves loads of time. I just think you have to be happy with your choices - and I just wanted to make sure we got good value and quality.
Best regards
Sandra

Hi all.
We recently spent a few day's in Roda searching for furniture packages etc.
Whilst visiting DFS in San Javier, we were told by a salesman that Roda were now not insisting on there own package to enable renting through them.
On return to Roda we asked in Customer Services if this was true? They replied that they had had no such information passed on to them.
We wonder if anyone else has heard anything, or could it just be a sales trick.

Its a sales trick, I was there in September and was told that I would have to buy their overpriced Furniture package for them to be able to proceed to rent my property. Given that when I met the rentals department, I thought that their monotone sales patter and lack of interest beggared belief. Sure you can go and buy it for peace of mind, guarantees etc, but I reckon its about e7k overpriced. It wont last as long as other packages you can obtain for around e10k. Hope this helps.
Nick.

Having seen the Roda furniture package, we certainly had no intention of buying it.
I agree that they are vastly overpriced and not particularly good quality.

The Roda package suits a lot of people who do not have a week to ten days to seek out the various shops and suppliers in the area and is definitely required if an owner intends to rent their property through Roda. This is a condition of rental and is required as it allows Roda to hold a stock of everything so that if it is damaged or broken it can be replaced immediately for the next renters without troubling the owner for stockists of items.
I have just recently met a number of owners who are very happy with the Roda package mainly because the entire apartment is furnished for you from pictures hung on the walls, dishwasher plumbed and cupboard replaced and everything is there down to the teaspoons and juicer with absolutely no work on their part. They only had to come in and sit down. I can certainly see the merits in that as I have met quite a few very fed up men particularly, in the Club house and they are sick looking round shops and waiting in for handymen and electricians etc to fit lights etc etc. when they could have had a nice relaxing round of golf. I have one friend who furnished the first apartment he bought himself but he vowed that he would never do it again and bought the Roda package for the other one which he had bought although he has no intentions of renting. He reckons that he saved money on the second one!!
So if you are focussing on price alone perhaps the Roda package is not for you but if you wish to just walk into a finished apartment which will be taken on to the Roda rentals programme then you know what to do. There is strong competition for rentals and if the finish is not up to par the renters have a lot of choice and will not be back. I was speaking to an owner at the weekend at Roda and he told me that the rental department have signed up with a number of the upper end travel agencies here in Spain and Europe and that there is a lot of promotion going on at the moment for next year´s rentals. All of the professional golfers taking part in the tournament this week were in Roda rental properties so good publicity from that for all of us on the resort.
My personal view is that a property valued at approximately a quarter of a million euro on a five star resort is worth furnishing with quality furniture and finishing well whether you are renting or not.

Dear IP,
It almost sounds like you work for Roda, do we have an insider here trying to sell Roda products.
I may sound a bit sad but I looked through some past messages and you always seem to be on the side of Roda a bit similar to the person named INVESTOR.
I hope Iam wrong, and this site isnt being used for ulterior motives.

As I live in Scotland for 7 to 8 months of the year it is hard to imagine how I could be working for Roda - but you never know.
Do you think that they would be interested in a 57 year old retired law professor?
I am simply interested in representing both sides of every argument because there usually is one!! There is a lot of negativity on the forum and it is not good for any of us. If you read all of my postings you will note that I am fair and balanced because there are two sides to every story. Perhaps I haven´t left the job behind after all!!!!

Ok Lorraine,
I hold my hands up maybe its just me looking to deeply into it sorry , its just that it seems like the majority think Roda are on the steep side and if they get wind of this it may benefit us all, by them having a rethink of their prices in general not just furniture but community fees etc.
I also understand your point of view ( you get what you pay for) but the trouble people are having regarding snagging and the so-so furniture pack ARE we getting what we are paying for, it seems Roda have us by the short and curlies regarding many issues.
On the up side we are very happy with our apartment and think eventually we will start making a profit.
Rory.
