Has anyone else had this experience?  We've bought a 2-bed apartment on Phase 2 (Alhambra) two years ago and went out this weekend to see the apartment for the first time in advance of completion in a couple of weeks.  We were absolutely astounded to find that the entire layout of the apartment (down to the layout of the bathrooms, removal of storage areas, wardrobe positioning, etc.) had changed from the plans we signed when we bought it.  The living areas we can live with (there are no better worse than before) but the changes to bathrooms, bedrooms and storage are really bad.  The contract says that the developer can make alterations due to legal or technical reasons but to change the entire design and not tell us?  Has anyone else experienced this and how did you get it resolved?  Would appreciate some advice - am still in shock!!

What did Calidona say when you complained ?.

We are in block 50 and due to sign on the 24th July.

There has also been many changes to the layout of our ground floor apartment.

1/ No utility room

2/ Back door added to kitchen

3/ Patio door instead of window in 2nd bedroom.

We have not complained as with the exception of the bedroom the changes are to our liking.

The lay out to the bedroom is a problem due to the location of the radiator. This will need moving or it means the bed will have to go next to the patio door. This we will put on the snag list.

We have also been out this weekend and although very impressed with how the resort is looking and generally happy with our apartment there are a couple of things we would change.  We have a solid wall on our terrace which impedes our view of the swimming pool and gardens and it would have much nicer and more sensible I think to have had railings.  The entrance to our solarium is from just inside a gate before the front door so we will have to keep going outside the apartment to get on to the solarium which isn't ideal.  We would also have liked patio doors in the master bedroom.  The bidet was missing in the bathroom but at least this gives us more space.  The utility room had also disappeard but I don't think they put them on phase 1 either.

Hi everyone

We have decided that we are going to put our deposit on an apartment on phase 4 but are waiting to find out if it is a solid wall on the back terrace.  I have asked Roda directly last week when we stayed there .I have also e-mailed our agent to say that it is an issue with us if we cannot see our children/grandchildren from that terrace. Of course we would always be with the younger ones at the pool but the 11 to 15 year olds we would want to watch from the terrace. I've told Roda that we do not want a solid wall there . We don't want a wall at all.  Its so stupid not to be able to see the kids  in the pool from that back terrace. To me we think that the blocks are the wrong way round - facing the road and the golf course. We would rather the front overlooked the swimming pool. but there you go. Nothing is ever perfect -is it and Roda is we think the place to be.

It seems very random who has railings on the terrace and who has a wall.  I think it depends on the builder on the day.  I'm sure you will find that the majority of the apartments do overlook the swimming pool it's just the entrance at the back and probably the second bedroom.

Hi my complaint is very minor compared to most. But has anyone on phase I or II got a barranda town house? we are having problems of where they have placed the tv point it is in between the two windows no place for a tv unit and  if mounted on wall would obstruct the patio doors to the terrace. we have asked roda to move but they said it was standard!! i am not happy to accept this and want it moved has anyone else had this problem?
