Hello whittle, webought our apartment on phase 2 almost 19 months ago ,and are due to complete in july.It is our first venture at buying abroad .During this time we have had highs and lows about buying ,(all our savings going out and nothing to see for it!!!!. We were out last month and for the first time we knew we have made the right decicion.. I think these  feelings of doubt must be with everyone who buys off plan.(fear of the unknown). De vere own  a fantastic hotel near where we live in england and if our hotel at roda is half as fantastic as this place then this will be the icing on the cake. Phase one is starting to look mature and in another year  when all the plants are in bloom it will be magical . im sure phase 2,3 etc will be just as good, to make the whole resort magic! CANT WAIT!!!!!

Yes it is natural to have doubts but I guess some of us are risk takers! We, like others, had doubts fuelled by the lack of fulfillment of promises made about timescales and by the failure by agents to keep buyers uptodate.

We reported elsewhere that we visited Roda in early June asked lots of questions and experienced the place for ourselves by staying in a phase 1 appartment. All doubts left us as we walked around the maturing plants, swam in the clean pools and played golf with greens that match any I have played on in Northern Ireland.

I was also impressed with the staff in the clubhouse and pro-shop; nothing too much trouble andlittle signs that showed us they wanted to give good service

Looking forward to meeting people when we move in our Phase 3 apartment nest year

Mike and Margaret

Hi All

We bought on Phase 1 and  spent two and half years worrying about what we had done.  We stayed in our apartment for the first time since January when we completed and I have to say that Roda blows us both away - and its only half finished!  I think when all the facilities are in place, the other phases landscaped and occupied, the hotel and spa up and running, the clubhouse complete and the Beach Club complete, the restaurant and shops open for business then we think that the whole resort will be something to write home about and then some.  I

We also met some lovely people during our stay so a big thank you for contributing to a wonderful holiday.  We really learned how to chill and adopt the "manana" lifestyle.

Now all we  have to do is to learn to play golf and find some other beginners to play with!

Hasta proxima

Sandra  & Allan

Hi,

We are buying on phase 2 and are still worrying!  However, when we last went out in February, even though we questioned the amount of money we were spending on our first overseas property, the one thing we were sure about was Roda.  We agree with all the previous positive comments and can't wait to have our first proper holiday there.   As for playing golf Sandra, count us in - we're beginners too!!

Hi Jane and John

I meant to say we have just come back (last Friday) from our stay and the one thing I couldn't find was the "Crazy Golf".  But we look forward to meeting up at some point to swap stories about Roda.

Glad there are some other novices out there because the one question  we are constantly asked is "why did you buy on a golf resort if you can't play golf?" - I didn't really know the answer until our  recent stay and now I do know - its fab"

Thanks so much for everyones messages. We have not seen or heard one bad thing about Roda so it must be the right thing to do. We are renting an apartment for a week to try before we buy but we have 99% decided to go ahead. We are aware that time scales are a bit iffy and take that into account.  We wanted golf even though we have never played because the greens will never be built on and you have the impression of being in open space and not an urbanisation. The Mar Menor is the only place we have visited where I could actually live. There is something magical about it.
