Acting/talent agencies on the costa blanca!

Now every one seems to be zapping about, can I get some advice on the best way to transfer from Almeria Airport and then hir car while we are there.

I was presuming pre booking hire car from the Airport to be the best bet, but does anyone else, know better. All suggestions welcome please.

To date our agents have allways picked us up.

We have always picked up our car at the airport using Europcar. I know Europcar has offices along Mojacar Playa, so presumeably you can arrange to pick up a car from there. How you would get from Almeria to Vera, I have no idea whether there is an alternative to a taxi.

However, we have also had www.doyouspain.com recommended. They are very reasonable & according to others, very easy to use.

We have always picked up from the airport and use Holiday Autos who we have found to be the cheapest.  They use a variety of car hire companies, including Europcar. 

Although we have never used a taxi from the airport we have spoken to people who have and gather it is very expensive and probably not worth doing unless you do not intend to use a hire car whilst there.

I've used Sol-mar from both Alicante and Almeria airport and have had no problems with them at all. I believe they are very competitive also.

Europcar are great; if you want you can pick up at Mojacar and drop off at Almeria airport.

Be wary of Carjet; when we picked up our car in Mojacar when we went over to complete, they made us pay for a full tank of diesel and said to bring it back empty! With Europcar, it's full when you collect it and you take it back full.

There is a shuttle bus that goes from the airport to Vera and costs about £20 return. However, it goes via a few other towns so takes about 1 1/2 hours. Besides which, you probably need a car when you get there.
