My hubby tried one of the local restaurants in San Cayetano centre.. along from the bakers & internet cafe.. he said it was really nice and cheap.

Hi Vox,

Think the one Tina's hubby went in was Lozano's. All the builders go there for lunch, It is more of a cafe than restaurant but the food looked ok and the builders seemed to be enjoying it. We had coffee and the lady was really friendly.

Further along is Bermans Bar. This is a late bar where he only does food on Sundays (tapas type dishes). It gets fairly busy most evenings and has tables outside where most of the town from Grandmother down to to babies in prams stop for a chat. Mostly Spanish but again we were made welcome. We met Alexmac from this site in there one evening and another British family who live in the village. My two sons got talking to some Spanish youngsters and went out to a disco at Lo Pagin and to Pacha nightclub in Torrevieja with them.

Another cafe/bar further along is Jaoquin el Rincon I think. similar to Lozeno,s. They do serve food but not sure if open late or not.

We also tried the Indian restaurant near to Balsicas on the industrial estate and it was really good, will need to book in high season, but mostly if we ate out we went to Santiago de la Ribera.

hi vox,i met some great people of our site including Pat and her famiy[lock up your daughters when her boys are around!!!!!!.]just to answer one query about joaquins bar which is the one at far end of village,he apparently is a top chef well known in the area,if you know how to order your food in spanish its well worth going,i was told he is going to have a new restaurant in the village which is going to be top class,by the way i roled in from there at 5-30 am on tues morning after having a few beers and games of doms with some mates ,forgot my key so knocked wife up,promised to go to market with her so she got meup at 9am,couldnt feel me legs but went with her anyway this is a round abut way to tell you its a late bar.have a good holiday.

thought you went straight home after Bermans, you crafty old soul.

Good to know Joaquins is open til late We did see him organising what looked like a banquet one evening, looked delicious but thought it was for a private function or something.

Did you do all the shopping when Mrs. Alexmac came over?

hi Pat and Jim,yep when chris came over we shopped till we dropped,correction i dropped chris wanted to carry on!!! it was good though and i enjoyed every minute out there,it was good to meet you  and ilook forward to doing so again.good luck.
