I have read the thread you refer to and it is very interesting, great info, thank you.Suggst any at El Rincon read it.
We signed the other week, and make our first visit next Friday.
We have a basic furniture package but will be shopping for all the bits. I imagine we will be hitting the shops early doors Friday. Because of a shortage of time we might not be able to compare prices as much as we would like, any suggestions where to go first, after food shopping.
Patio furniture is on the list, prices can differ here in the UK from one place to another so I guess it will be the same in Spain.
I will be taking my TOM TOM with me, does anyone know postcode of IKEA, last time we went it took me ages to find it, my sense of direction is a bit dodgy.
Scrufty, yes I agree no football shirts please, Leeds 7wins out of 7 .......fantastic!
Are you in yet? I keep forgetting who's in and who's not?

I took my Tom Tom over at Easter and found the only way I could actually get IKEA into the directions was to register the address when I was stood in the IKEA carpark, however if you do a Google Map search with the address that Brian and Helen provided then it really does help. I might be very wrong but I would take the AP-7 down to San Javier then take the C-3319 ( I believe this is a newish dual carriageway) across to Balsicas and on to the A-30 (I missed this and ended up near Cartagena) then it is simply the AP-7 again heading towards Alicante, you pass Murcia and really can't miss it. Hope this helps and if not I believe Malaga is quite nice this time of year !!!!
As far as garden furniture is concerned, you are right prices, styles, quality etc vary massively, we had a good look around and even the Carrefour along from the Go-Cart track had some ok stuff as well as the outdoor display next to the Go-Cart track and there was also a sort of Homebase shop in the Habineras shopping mall in Torrevieja that was worth a look.
Great news about the completion, let us know how it goes when you get the keys with regards to snagging etc.., we are hoping for completion on the 4th then out there on the 17th for a couple of weeks.
Best of luck

I went to Ikea for the first time last Friday, the route I went to get there was on at the AP 7 at San Miguel, then joined the AP9 to Murcia, this was a straight run but the longest, you will see the IKEA signs from the motorway. On the return journey, I found it easier to come off at Oriheula AP9 and then head for Torrevieja, it will take you through the town or Oriheula then onto San Miguel, a nice drive back. IKEA is well worth a visit for everything, spent 4 hours in there and too much money!
Builders have started on the middle section - just digging the foundations and laying cement down, unfortunately the noise is terrible and the dust will be worse when the winds start up!

In front on the square section, neighbour told me today that 2 u shaped buildings are planned there, however they may only be putting down the foundations and outside walls for now, leaving the main build for later/until sales pick up again, but as you know its Spain and this could change by next week! They are also putting in pipes etc on the La Mosca site over the road as well.

Does anyone have any recent photos of the building work going on that could be posted under the construction photos.
More importantly is Burger King open yet ?

There was a sales leaflet at the Bennecke office which shows the plan of the new development, apparently they were going to be the same as El Rincon originally but then they changed the plan to a different look . have enclosed a link whixh will show the plan of the apartments , prices etc

Yes just looked again, B & L are estate agents at Villa Martin? have looked on the Benneke web site but they still show the old details
thanks

This link may work, I'm not the best at these things, but as you will hopefully see the next fase is called El Bosque and you can see details of prices, sizes, design etc.. copy and paste the whole section into the address bar and you should see the details of the next fase, looks different.

Thanks Scrufty, looks very nice, but pricey - I have been looking at a new 2 bed detached villa inland (La Romana) for the same price
plus it comes with an underbuild
I can't imagine the builder will shift these very quickly with the market as it is - they also state completion Sept 2008 - no way! prob 2009

Would you buy there when there is the chance of something on the beach side of the N332 ? I for one would be saving that bit more and hoping for a small lottery win to secure something that came with a more guaranteed sea view.

Hi Scrufty, yes I would - it all comes down to what you are able to afford what you want and when you want it.
Yes I would also save or hope to win the lottery if I was patient enough to hang on for the others on the other side. It will be a prime location.
As we are planning to come over in 2 years to live, our plan has always been to move inland then. We will probably still keep the apartment, we love the area etc, and I feel in the long term once all building has been completed and the 'proposed' marina and the new shopping areas have also been completed it can only get better.
