Documents you should carry with you

Is anyone using these solicitors? (Francisco de la Torre is my contact)

I have emailed then three times this week & I am getting absolutely no response.

Is anyone else having similar problems?

Yes Francisco has moved to the Berlin office. Fernando Ruiz is dealing with Thalassa,  email address is fernando.ruiz@martinezechevarria.com

If you have given power of attorney to your solicitor to sign for you, fernando ,cannot do this but another lawyer at the office can. Her name is Violette VanHerpe.

Oh dear. I heard lots of stories about these solicitors before we bought. Try as they might, MRI could not persuade me to use them. When I mentioned their names to my current solicitor, he laughed, then said he could say no more!!

We also have had problems in that  e mails are ignored however phone calls do tend to get replied to.

We have had 3 different solicitors dealing withus since we gave the deposit, and we still havent completed yet!!

solicitors seem to leave their employment but they dont bother telling their clients and e mails to the solicitor you think is representing you go unanswered as no one bothers to reply to the e mails or inform u that the person u are comunicating with has left. Phone calls are a little more productive, if you can get past the secretary. you need to be quite insistent upon speaking to a solictor as she is willing to tell you anything to get rid of you.

I have now had an email from the new solicitor that is dealing with us & he is going to try to get us completed before the 22nd October for when we go to Spain (won't hold my breath though!)

It is not only the solicitors that don't tell you they are moving on.

We had a contact at MRI Aftersales, who was supposed to be our all singing all dancing saviour of the day & when I emailed her last week, the email just bounced back. I then phoned them & asked to speak to her but was put through to someone else but at no time did anyone tell me she had left the company.

It was only through someone we met on our inspection trip that we heard this.

The day when we don't have to deal with these people any more, can't come quickly enough!!!!
