Ok so I know that I've asked loads of stuff already but this is the big one, SKY TV,
The wife wants football obviously, my 6 year wants cartoons and I just want to sit on the balcony drinking this new cocktail I've made up.
So what do we do, I know there are adverts in the local papers but I've just read on another thread that sky is not legal in Spain so you should not pay a monthly or annual subscription, just pay an installation fee and take your chance that you may or may not be cut off at some point in the future !
So those lucky enough to have completeted on El Rincon phase 1 or phase2 what have you done and would you do it differently with what you know now ?
Sad as it may seem TV is important to a 6 year old especially if its raining so any help would be appreciated.
Oh and remember some sad git who looks like he's having fun putting flack pack furniture together next week (block 31) has probably been in the sun too long and needs a drink.
Thanks

HI Scrufty, Sky is illegal in Spain what ever choice you make - you can either purchase the package up front , or pay monthly fee - I prefer to pay monthly fee to Nortons, 19 euros a month. We have a communial arial on our building via Norton.
If you go the one off route, are you on the top floor? if not where would you put your dish, usually dishes are not allowed on your balcony, or you could ask someone on the top floor to place it on their roof terrace. Has a communial arial been fixed to your building? I have seen quite a few arials on the roof.
Hopefully someone on your delvelopment earlier phase may have other ideas.
When I am over again next month, I am going to bring out my freeview box to see if I have any joy picking up any channels?
Good luck with your flat pack! - and many enjoyable years at El Rincon (the pool looks fab)

Thanks for your kind wishes, yes we are on the top floor and yes there is a communal aerial, anything else I'm unsure of.
As you say hopefully someone who has already completed on El Rincon may be able to advise.

HI there
We are completing on El Rincon Phase 11 tomorrow and were wondering if anyone is any further forward on installing Sky tv and if so can they recommend anyone to install. We are also on the top floor. Going out in a couple of weeks time so hoping to get this sorted. (another thing off the list!)
Thanks

Mullens
Send me a private message with any questions as having completed last month and had both sets of parents there for the last month (not at the same time thank god !!) I've hopefully got most of the answers, although I'm still not sure how the Wok Buffet can make a living charging only 7.95 euros .
Good luck for tomorrow.
Regards

Hi,
yes, if anyone can identify the cheapest legal way to get English tv then I would appreciate an update. The President of the complex says that there is a communal aerial and that we cannot install any satellite dishes, etc (not that I would want to) .
I'm going back out to Spain soon and would like to get the tv sorted .... any useful information would be useful.
Thanks Steve & Andrea #32 (Groundfloor)

Hi
In order to get English TV, we used a company called Torresatelit which are located quite near the apartment, by the town holl. We have paid a one off connection fee and then one annual payment which enable to have all the English Channels, Sky one, Sky sports 1,2,3, Setanta sports, and lots of other channels.
I think the cost was 400 euro installation and then 180euro per year after that.
They were very easy to deal with and because their office is near the complex you can walk round if you have any issues, (and they speak English).
Their phone number is 0034 902 150 255.
Hope this helps

Yes, thanks for the info Scrufty, glad that you like the tiling. We haven't seen the finished result yet, it cost a fair bit but we hope that it is permanent and is preferable to mowing grass and pruning trees.
We're going back out to Spain in early Feb, we'll keep our eyes open and introduce ourselves to fellow owners when we get the chance.
All the best, Steve & Andrea
