I have had this response from Luis Marques at Seasun to an enquiry regarding the first community meeting.
1. We actually can not tell when the meeting is going to be, probably it
will be at beginning of 2008.
2. The meeting will be here in Vera, normally we do it in a hotel.
3. We have a figure which is approximate the quota you will pay but in the meeting time we will decide
services or other variations that will change that figure in regard the
customers needs.
4. At the moment nobody is paying community fee, Keymare is covering the
expenses till new notice, probably owners will star the payment on January
2008 but is not confirm yet this information.
You will receive further information by letter soon, that's what I can tell
at the moment.
The community is running really well, saving the little things that always
happen at completion.
I have stressed that we need as much notice as possible of the meeting & have asked to be advised by email. If I hear anything I will post again.

Help
Can somebody help me out, I have emailed Seasun, at the email address given in the Keymare pack, unfortunately with no response.
Does anybody know if we have to use this company or can we, when and if, we every get control of our own property/development change to someone else, as I get the impression that Seasun are not looking after our interests.

Sod's Law isn't it that the proposed date is the most expensive for flights, being February Half Term! I will e-mail Luis to see if it is looking likely for that date or whether it will be later than that. Will post details of his response when received.

I agree that the flights are most expensive but from my point of view the date is ideal as it is half term & I am sure this will allow many more to attend, particularly those with trips already booked.
Also, as I said in my previous post, the date of the 15th Feb came from Luis but will not be confirmed until after his update meeting with KM later this week.

Is Luis based at Seasun house in Mojacar by any chance? There must be some link with Keymare as the only properties they have for sale in their window are Keymare properties. Surely they should be working for the benefit of the community and independent. Just a thought!!!!

Yes Luis is based at Seasun House in Mojacar & the connection with KM is not unexpected.
We are not yet a fully set up community because the development is so new & up to the end of November only about 50% of the purchases had been completed. Therefore, Key Mare still retained 50% control.
We are in a state of limbo because of this. Luis has met with a couple of owners & once the first community meeting takes place, I am sure that he will be working with us.
Obviously if they do not work with us, the community will be able to consider other options.

Good luck Noreen with the first meeting, I hope it all goes well.
The great thing is you've found this great place, I noticed your restaurant recommendations, some of them happen to be my favourites as well, especially Richard at El Mar, try the lobster stew amazing! Next time you are over try the french bakery in Mojacar, near SeaSun House below Angela Morales office, the cakes are to die for.
I indulged at christmas with a white choccie and wild strawberry xmas log, it was to die for. They told me that it would suit 8 people, I ate most of it over 2 days, naughty but nice!!!!
Anyway best go feeling hungary talking about those cakes!!!

In the short term I think that we shall have no alternative but to accept Seasun as the maintenance Contractor. Unless someone can come with an alternative contractor who is capable of handling a 500,000 euro annual contract starting from the date of the general meeting. The essential point to bear in mind for the meeting is that any points that are agreed can only be done by a majority vote but as Keymare will hold the votes for all absent owners and unsold properties they are in a very strong position to push through any points they wish .
Seasun may be a capable contractor but from a value for money and quality assurance point of view owners must ensure that contract offered to Seasun is kept to the minimum, say one year. The only way to do that is to make our votes count either at the meeying or through a proxy vote.

I think Seasun have to be given a chance to run with things without having the influence of Key Mare to contend with & it will only be after a suitable period of time, that a judgement on their capability can be made.
The issue about the majority vote is the reason why the community meeting & hand over to Seasun have been delayed. I believe that around the end of November, only 50% of completions had taken place & this would have given KM too much control of the vote.
We are in a bit of a limbo situation right now with the need for the set up of the community increasing but also the influence of KM potentially still being too high.
It will be interesting to hear the result of the meeting between Luis & KM later this week.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking of booking flights and coming over soon but did not want to rush in and book a trip over and then discover we would be going back home and miss out on the first meeting. There appears to be lots of people coming out for half term so we just might take a chance and make it around then also.
