Please can anyone tell me what we need to do, for getting onto the internet within our property (sorry if it has already been covered under an earlier thread). For example, do we need to apply to the area telephone company (like BT in England), or is the phone line already connected to the properties and you then purchase cards (as you do at the Polaris developements) ?
Also, do you then have to pay a monthly fee to stay connected, as in England, or can you just pay as and when you go over to Spain?

Hi Les
The telephone line is already in and a complimentary phone is supplied with your welcome package. We just contacted Telefonica and got ISDN broadband but we pay monthly so whether we are there or not we are paying. I do intend to investigate this further in the near future when I am out again but it was very easily organised and we were able to get a girl from the Aftersales to phone Telefonica for us to sort it out.
I am sure that there are other options and was hoping that someone else would post on this so that I would get an idea of what they are.
Lorraine
PS there seems to be wireless internet in the clubhouse as the last time we were out there was a lady using her laptop several nights there. This message was last edited by lp on 2/14/2008.

Thanks for that Lorraine, Vanesa in the aftersales / customer services did not tell me about the phone line being in, or that you get a complimentary phone, when I asked. She did say something about Telephonica being the main agent for phones.
So can you actually phone out from the complimentary phone, or just receive incoming calls and make calls around the resort ? I would be grateful if you could let me know if you find anything else out

Hi Les
Once you plug in the phone you contact or are connected to Telefonica (I can´t remember which) and they get your bank details etc as it is an ordinary land line just like BT or your UK provider. I am not sure what the cost is for just a landline but think that we pay around 35euro per month which gives us unlimited free calls in Spain but not to UK!! and all the internet access we want.

Hi all,
I have several properties in Spain & all are signed up with Europa Network (www.europa-network.com). Their call charges are good (especially international), all calls between Europa clients are always FREE, and you can have a 0844 number diverted from the UK for free i.e. person in UK calls 0844 .......... the call is re-directed to your Spanish number & is charges at approx. 4p per minute from UK (no charge to receive it). You can also direct your mobile calls to UK for much cheaper through your Europa account.
Please PM me for more info.

If you have an internet connection, you can download Skype free of charge and have all your phone calls free, from anywhere in the world (so long as the person you are calling has Skype also). That makes a change, to get something free with no strings attached
