We have had problems with damp in our apartment for many months, when we arrive the walls are fairly dry but as our stay continues the walls get wetter and wetter. We were over last week and noticed that the water in the bath (2nd bathroom) was flowing away slowly, during a shower, we filled the bath and then unplugged, a few minutes later the grout on the floor began to get wet, eventually we had a large puddle. Dave Baxter managed to get one of the builders into see this. Two workman then appeared and dismantled our WC and lifted the manhole outside, after pouring dye through the pipes they discovered a break in a pipe. Next they looked under the bath and found it had not been connected, the same thing happened in the en-suite and again the bath had not been connected. We were told on Tuesday (by the same builder) that we had moister under our apartment and had to wait for the walls to soak it all up and then let the walls dry and to be repainted (if you believe that !). We left on Thursday with both bathroom dismantled and humidifers going, our friends sneaked in and took some pictures on Friday and tiles had been taken up in the main bedroom. Hopefully now our problems will be solved, so if anyone is having the same problems check your water flow, you may have the same problem as us.
