Hi.

This is a message for everyone who has or is going to complete as SG.

If you need any thing done such as grills, gardens, white goods ect please get more than one price for these as there is sometimes vast differences in prices.

You could put that difference to good use.

I know sometimes people only have a few days here when they have completed but if you try to do your homework before you come out you will be financialy better of I'm sure.

I couldnt agree more after speaking to several people that accepted the first estimate I found that some could have saved thousands for work that has been done, So dont jump at the first offer because it could be the most costly, if in doubt ask.

I agree with “Jackie’s” comments regarding off site savings from suppliers of grills and white goods.  But might I suggest that further on site savings could be made has “Carray” seems to be referring too by obtaining an overall estimate of Varying prices that is being offered by different people on SG for basically the same work i.e.

1.The cost of key holding and the maintenance quality service offered.

2.The cost of cleaning services (depending on property size)

3. The cost of general Garden Services like Clearance, The laying of membrane & Gravelling. Concrete & Tiling.

4.Electrical & Plumbing.

Addittional

Help could be offered in helping those known to be without transport by offering transport to & from the local airport.

And for those back home ( where ever home may be ) who have excess to EOS

That have a confirmed arrival date and need help with an “Arrival Pack” until you can get your own BREAD MILK & EGGS . Contact me.

I know we are all to here to keep our heads above water  But if by helping to keep somebody else a float – then lets do it .!!!!!!! 

I find some of these commentsreally odd as I seem to remember when I was giving similar advice a number of months ago, as somebody with a lot of experience of how the Spanish system works, I was shouted down by certain parties

I created a buyers guide, which is still available which speciifcally gives advice on these matters, lits details of local shopping centres and online newspapers where there are lists of tradesman providing services so that you can get competitive quotations

Please don´t rush into getting everything done, take your time to look around as this will save you hundreds if not thousands of euros, a lot of rental income

Building and gardening services cost less in Spain but cheapest isn´t always howvever best, especially on items such as grills AC and white goods, where you should always look for quality brands and suppliers that have established track records and are registered and working legally

Keyholding process can vary dramatically but be carefull to check what is included, weekly checks, airing, meet and greet and cleaning, more importantly what the clean includes

Remember anyone can offer a cheap service, very few a quality service, you get what you pay for

Fact people try to cut each others rates, sign up too many properties an when 7 people arrive on a Saturday at the same time cannot provide the service, find out how many properties they are managing, how many people are emplyed, and speak to their clients, even perhaps visit a property that they are looking after

For airport collections, done in a private vehicle and  where a charge is made, the pasengers will not be insured   

If a keyholder is not registered and there is any break in where the Police attend if it is found that they are not registered the Police will advise the insurance company and they may not allow the claim

If a builder or electrian carries out work and causes damage and they are not insured you may end up liable for the repir bill, plus MASA may then decide to invalidate your  10 building warranty, as seen on the recent ITV show

I know that there are other snagging organisations that have copied my service, that offer lower prices but that are not registered, not insured and personally I would rather do 50% of the work for the same money, maintain the high levels of service, and maintain my reputation

Again there will be plenty of work on this urnbanisation and people should be working together not cutting each others throats for a living, which I believe is happening as nobody wins
